    UM56 or Cans

I'll be using the cans at home for sure. Thats why I mentioned that please recommend those that can directly be driven from the source since I don't have a solid state amp at home.
  2. I've some spare cash on me these days and I can't wait to spend it on something worthwhile . Now I'm a newbie in this audiophile business and currently own a portable rig that consists of UM2s and a Xin Supermini IV. And it's been a month since I've been hooked on it (2 for the UM2s). So I've a choice to make to whether to go for customs for the UM2 or get myself a pair of CANs (i've never owned one before). Now, I need help from you people in reaching a decision as to which one I should go for? And considering the fact that I'm in love with my UM2s which CANs would best suit my hearing taste? P.S. I don't own a solid state amp at home so would require to run the CANS (if i end up buying one) directly off the source or via the mini. Budget: 400-600S$
  3. Any idea where can I get this adapter from?
  4. I just wanted to know if Singapore Airlines is currently allowing to carry IEMs and IPods/DAPs on board it's aircrafts?
  5. Lucky you - I'm still waiting for my Super mini ordered on Sept 8th
  6. UM2 on Bishan MRT station..today afternoon
  7. I was at Stereo Electronics today and auditioned the Weston UM2s (didn't get my hands on the E4Cs since they're out for a repair job). Now I'll be pairing either of these with my Xin Supermini IV (God knows when I'll get mine delivered to me - it's been three months since I've placed an order for it). So in the mean while I just wanted to know whether it'd be a good idea to get the headphones prior to I receiving my amp? And between these two earphones which one would you lot prefer?
  8. Thanks alot for your reply monkeygod. Since this is my very first time with a MD - recorder I'm kind of stumped when it comes to evaluating their specs. I wanted to know if Sharp MD-DR77 is a good enough buy for the reasons I've mentioned in my previous posts.
  9. So which MD - recorders will you people suggest for line in/live gig/cassette recordings?
  10. Recording lectures, music from old magnetic cassette tapes, FM radio recording...Do MD players do a good job at these? If yes, which ones? And how much do they cost? edit: but i don't think MD players come with built in FM tuners.
  11. I need a DAP which can record audio via line in - fm input and micro phone. Any suggestions? Budget within 300S$
  12. Err, I just plugged in my headphones directly to the pocket dock and into into my Ipod 5G and the volume I'm getting out of it is actually MORE than what I get out of builtin amp :s....This means what?
  13. Nah! I've met QSilver and the guy in question wasnt him
  14. Last night 11 pm - A guy with cap on and shoulder length hair wearing grados with a wooden exterior (not sure about the model) @ Bishan mrt. Umm i've never seen anyone wearing PMX100 besides me .. are they really that bad or rare? (and i live in bishan as well for that matter =P)
  15. Both. I've run my ipod straight up for 8 hrs after the update and it's still going :s.. at the time of update it was at half battery life ... and i've been continuously playing vids and songs...in different combos... it's astonishingly different from what it was :s
  16. Is it just me or has the battery life of Ipod 5 Gen just got a hell lot better after upgrading it to Ver 1.2 :s
  17. Ordered my SuperMiniIV (default config) on 8th Sept...Now I guess I'll have to wait for another couple of months before I'll get it
  18. Price reduced to 60$... Can't go any less :s
  19. Remember i updated my choice to Bithead... a while ago.
  20. I'm thinking about getting the XIN Supermini IV instead, the default version. Is it a good enough choice with E3Cs?
  21. What I meant was that I want the best in 'default' configuration that I can get in under US$250. And since this is going to be my very first amp, so I really have no idea what to expect out of it. Supermini IV = US$225.98 inclu. shipping. exclu. shipping = US$199
