To me, i guessed you should have tried them out before purchase. If you do not hear any difference in the sound, its not worth to get an amp at all. If you still dun hear difference after burning in, sell it away and be done wid it. lol

i suggest you save and stretch your budget abit, its really of no point buying low-end products and not having the satisfaction u crave. Prevent urself frm upgradesitis. Use ur sony's for now, until they kick the can, then you sould have saved enough money for something better, take it frm me, i am a poor student who made the mistake of buying 3 pairs if sonys before my ck7... money spent on them is money wasted. (unless u tried the rest and you really like'em)

look at the sf3, um1, and the d-jays. the ck7 is a little cheaper, and the er6/i is around ur max budget. try them all out. and i heard psp is a terrible source. for cans u will have limited selection. Ms1, DTX 700/900, and dj81. let ur ears decide.

whoa, scary.... its personal prefrence, ahdui loved it over the um2, cuz the sound sig is round the same as westones. UE is like totally diff., so if someone like ue, then might not like the e500 as much... lol dun take it too seriously.. haha

It's harder to drive than the UE's and the westones, but its fairly possible to be driven from most DAPs

Heard the IEM "king" yesterday. Whoa, the triple drivers made quite a difference, however, i only liked the mids of the phones. (I was never a fan of the shure sound sig.) Glad to say, those in Team UE can save 100USD, cuz the e500, does not have the UE sound signature i love.(IMHO)
