  1. You don't need to use very sharp object because it's hard to get the balance, I used a small vitamine bottle with a flat surface of a size of big coin on top, it's much easier, the idea is to balance the weight among the 3 cones, get rid of internal tense, center of player is not the center of gravity.
  2. I read somewhere that you should find the center of gravity of your cdp, draw a circle a bit bigger than the base plate (no need to draw it physical) and put 3 cones on the circle with 120 degree angle to each other. I put my ebony pyramid acording to this and can manage one near the transport one near transformer (left side front and rear tip down), the other one at right side tip up.
  3. Within one month, if I sell something, I'd make sure I got something in my mind to replace it.
  4. I forgot the model No. It sounds - eh - OK, not so impressive, it block the noise a lot. The px250 is said to have lesser NC effect, but it looks more stylish. May be you want try my kenwood to get an idea what NC is doing?
  5. No, I did not tried the px250 because I don't need the function. I did tried another noise cancelling phone from sennheiser, and I do have a kenwood foldable noise cancelling phone, it is a fun function to play with, but now I'm happy with px200.
  6. Quit good for low impedance phones. I use those studio type of plugs. I can do for you, but it take time to buy parts and few hours to sold (still new, and the small resistor is quite hard to deal with ), so you have to wait when I'm free
  7. Agree with Rameish about the grit, I like some honey on my violin and lesser sibilance on female vocal
  8. Still a newbie lah, did two 4p->4s cable.
  9. I also don't think glass head is good, feels like it will fall down from your table anytime.
  10. Thanks, Rameish. Maybe this week end. evil-zen also interested of going, maybe we can go together.
  11. Wow, I just get in DIY cable, alot to learn.
  12. Never listend to Grado before, walked in the music by design twice, the sells man seems not interested in selling them and audition was not allowed, pluss people's comment about the brightness stopped me there I read they have good synergy with my Greek 11se. Rmeish, my W1000 run in already, looking forward to meet you someday, but when can this SARS get over? BTW, how do you do your business now?

    hot weather

K501 is fine for me, actually I use my W1000 every night, you have to prepare for it, calm yourself down, clean your face, don't drink too much water before you listen... I miss my leather pad sold with W100 Small phone is good, but when you at home, you always want ultimate sound quality, right?
  14. Waiting... How about the Terminator III? I heard there is a new release of Terminator II DVD with Dolby headphone sound track, anybody tried?
  15. Sould work for my W1000, but the thing is that the driver angled already, will it be too much? better to figure out a way for K501 to make it's stage deeper.

    I'm done

Done? Hahahaha, my wife never believe me when I said I was done except the first time I told her. Don't you ever want to try some electrastatic like stax 4040, some K1000? You also need a good set for portable use, for office use, for .... use .... At least for now, you can start to experience different cables, power conditioners to fine tune your system. For me, I need to upgrade my cd player next time I got some excuse
  17. For me, I remenber I did have same problem as you do quit long time ago, it happened few times only, the stage seems go to the back side of my head, I forgot how it changed back. Now everything is normal, especially with those phones with inclined driver like W1000, the stage can be expanded infront of me and quite deep like good speaker system. Ksc35 also quite good in this depatment, according to my memory, HD600 also have very good headstage, K501 is very wide but not deep enough. One suggestion, when use big phones, shift it toward front a bit.
  18. Buy the mx500 first, because you will always need a good sounding small buds for it's convenience.
  19. Agree to Northern Oak As for speaker and headphone, with headphone, you need a bit more imagination to make yourself small and put yourself infront of the soundstage, all of them are artificial unless you use very big speaker setup like last time Hugo Demo in Singapore conference hall.
  20. It's depends on your ears, for me, I fell a bit pain after one hour of use, but it gets better over this week. If I were you, I would avoid koss for outside use, because it totally open, you need to listen at a higher volumn, that will damage your hearing and it's not recoverable, I do treasure my hearing, everybody try my phone while I'm listening will jack up the volumn
  21. I have px200 and like it, for me it's better than ksc35 in term of every thing except sound stage. Isolation is ok for MRT and outside use, maybe some people can't get used to something on their ears, for me it's ok. I'll never call the mid of the px200 be recessed, it's the mid that make this phone shine; therer is a mid bass hump, I think it's necessary for a small phone; What makes me surprised is the detail, compare to full size phone like K501, I don't fell I missed any detail, with mx500 and ksc35 I know there is detail missing.
  22. Nice job, where are they in the head-fi?
  23. "yue hai liu sheng" by her and the other two girls.
