I was pretty curious how er4 is affected by resistance in the cable. I then took the cable provided by triple.fi for airline use to dramatically increase the resistance. The er4 just sound totally different. Its much better then the p-s adapter provided by the person who sold it to me. The sound just open up and theres much more air in it. The only down point it requires much more volume to run. 95% on my zen vision. Just asking anyone knows the resistance value of the airline adapter provided by triple.fi?

Personally after listening it to sometime, I prefer the westone um2 afterall. Personal preference i guess Probably cause westone way of coloring is pretty my taste. I find the triple.fi pretty boring on some songs i listen.

if ur comparing the e500/e530 series, u can search online. Heard that the e500 is better in instrumental seperation lol.

Etys are probably one of the more neutral earphones but they are also one of the least bass. if you are a person that doesnt mind that, ety are probably one of the best out there. I do find them harder to drive then most other phones but nothing too hard for a normal dap. Its best u actually go down somewhere and try all of them then hear us say though. Maybe different from what we feel.

Planning to get a pair of customs. ES2 and UE5c seems like good choices for their prices. Just seeing if anyone have any of them and wats their difference. Also where can I get a good ear impression for them. I like the triple.fi but the fit is terrible >.<

Nice number u have there lol. More and more ppl getting triple.fi hmm. shows how popular it is with the community hmmp. I guess its the fantastic price tag to performance that attracts ppl. Though I still prefer my speakers if im at home lol

For me i already ditch away my hornet n portaphile cause its a hassle maintain the cables and bringing the extra load when my mp3 player is already tat big lol. (Zen Vision) But yeah there will be some difference but not every one can hear it. Its true that triple.fi will no doubt gain some extra detail + flavoring but its really dependent on you

Selling a Um1. Just replaced with a new one as the old one had a broken tube. Comes only the UM1 and carry case, 1 pair of foam tip and 3 pairs of small size shures sleaves.

There will be difference but seeing u have a zen micro, having an amp technically destroys the micro of it lol. Depends on the amp the difference will also be different. U can browse around the forum or web and see the amps characteristic. Hmm triple.fi, seems that quite a large amount of ppl here have them already lol.

its abt 150 diff not really 200 lol. Slow is the biggest issue i guess.

Online purchase is quite reliable this days. I purchase much thing via online too. As what loop said though the warrantee part isnt much of a problem. Brand new ety online and in sg cost is abt 100+ difference which is quite significant. However at this price point, you are already prepared to shell out quite a significant sum of money so most important is which u favor. Getting anyone of this and you probably wont upgrade for time to come.

For UE, their cables are inter changable. Theres a few kind, the clear ones, the slightly thicker and slightly thinner. The problem with UE is if u are first time user for IEM, you will find them very hard to fit into your ear and get a perfect seal

out of the cables, i prefer westone cables the most though. ER4p is abt 390 if u get from se. I have to say ue has the worst design. But I have to say UE produce good sound for the price u pay.

Debatable. At this price range, its more like u prefer which sound signature and do you eq ur music. Many ppl find um2 bass not something they like while others favors it. If u want to put it as an improvement, I will say its clarity is better. If u eq ur music u can get the triple fi to the lvl of um2 with the extra clarity there. Anyway after i got the triple fi, I felt that if I had not sold my um2 away sometime ago, its gonna be a tough choice on which to wear. My ears are abit small as such triple fi does give me some problem. Comfort is one thing um series reign supreme for universal monitor. So in the end, its all about preference

Passable sound quality. Amping it does make the sound better as tested.With highly sensitive IEM like triple fi or um2, its pretty ok. other then the crackle between songs, the handphone can produce quality similar to an mp3 player. The sound will no doubt be lousier then a cdp but then again they are very portable considering they carry 2 functions at once. BTW as im using a w950i, space isnt a constrain to me so all my songs are at 320 bit rate. bit rate does make a difference

having own the um2 before, the triple fi has better tranparancy and a tighter bass. Soundstage wise triple fi is slightly bigger. But even though triple fi bass may be tight, it doesnt have the impact like the um2. With eq, the triple fi can produce high impact yet tight bass that doesnt make the rest of the sound muddy.

From my personal listening, It pars the ipod and zen. As i never really hear iAudio for a significant time so comments comparing to it

Music is about personal taste and preference. Specs are part of sound but not everything to a human. Still interesting read though. The EB has a balance amature with a dynamic bass driver. Its cheaper to produce the dynamic then the balance amature with a huge price gap

Indeed. I own a ipod nano 2 before. U can search it somewhere in this forum where i describe the difference between an amp and unamped. Do note though i used a hornet M and a UM2 which is pretty high up on the audio line. Entry IEM and high bitrate file is the best way to go for portable audio. Doesnt burn the pocket too much too.

Really debatable. I yet to hear the n91 but from a w950i point, I find its as good as an average mp3 player other then the crackle between songs which is darn obvious with IEM >.<

Actually initially i want to get a er4p. Dont really fancy much bass. But seeing the price of a triple fi isnt tat exorbit and tat its still a LE I say why not lol. Triple 5 on some minor bass boost is fantastic lol. The bass is tight and high in impact.
