Yo dude, I checked around Aldephi..currently two models fit into your budget. Denon 500AE ($250) & Marantz 5001 ($270). NAD entry at least a $400-$450 range. Of course, I'm talking about 1st hand here, so no doubt you might be lucky getting better prices afterall. Denon 500AE vs Marantz 5001? I was told for Denon 500AE, its more suited for Pop kind of music while the Marantz 5001 suited for vocals, more like Jazz. Marantz has the Cirrus Logic DAC while Denon 500AE uses Delta Sigma DAC. Just my 2 cents worth bro!
  4. Yo man, sorry to hear about your incident. That case I will vouch for Creative EP630. My experience with Sony EX series are known to have excellent bass for trance, house & techno but vocals and rock music sounded muddy to my liking hence I prefer an EP630. For isolation, I find them more or less the same. CK6 is available for demo at Stereo Electronics if I recall correctly. A tip is to stretch the stock flanges back till the shiny grill is exposed and see if it gets better. I usually do it with the next larger size meaning before stretching, if M will fit, I will use an L (largest) and apply stretching and test if it fits. Another is ask for Bi Flanges either from Stereo Electronics (Causeway Pt. 4th floor, Woodlands) or Jaben (Aldephi, 4th floor) opposite of Funan, City Hall. Just my 2 cents worth, hope you find what you are looking for.
  5. Hello kj87! Have heard both speakers. For vocals, T40 sounds more accurate (tighter, crispier) & has fuller mids. For lows, bass tones are accurate but it lacks of impact, bass that you can feel its pumping out. Aego M packs more punch and impact for that matter. If you are using it for movies (matrix, star wars) & gaming (battlefield 1942 grenade BOOMs etc) as well as genre of music is Hip Hop, trance etc, get the Aego M. For crisp vocals (unplugged) music such as "Desperado" by Eagles, Guitar strums (instrumental) & music that are not overly heavy, I'll recommend T40. T40's was meant for pure, smooth, fuller & natural sound without the need of woofer (music sounded overly heavy by woofer) or detached (low end vocals & frequencies seperates with high end vocals being woofer placed further away from main satellite speakers). The Creative Warehouse Sale is coming up around November, 16th, 17th & 18th. If you can wait by then, never know, the price might drop. My 2 cents worth! Hope it helps!
  6. I am currently using Altec Lansing AHP524, goes for $48 @ Funan IT, PC smth..its closed, long wire & pretty gd bass, try it?
  7. Bit of an ancient but well, try not to miss out on ATH CK7? We are in the same boat but you are much more luckier, I don't have even some money to start me off with budgeting..looking forward to chinese new year for promotions! (hint )
  8. I feel RNB & POP sounds better in AKG81DJ as the bass are more slamming & fuller, depending on your tastes of music. MS1 sounds more airy to me being its open hence, due to sound leaks, bass are not as tight. At the same time, if you're bringing it out, AKG81DJ better choice as its obvious, there's not much isolation you can get from MS1. Though, I personally feel they sound very good at night since everything quiets down.. Just my 2 cents worth! Good luck in finding your headphones!
  9. NIGHTWISH! Children of Bodom (everytime i die especially) Iced Earth Soul eXistence Hell Yeah!
  10. If buying from amazon, any chance of tongpang ksc75?
  11. yup, yea I am using stock buds..i am considering gettin KSC75s probably to go with it..60ohms, my battery probably can't last I using W800i, apologise for the typo
  12. Just wanna share my settings for those using Sony Erricsson W800i using stock earbuds

hmm, i wonder how does the SONY 888 fontopia score with those? Probably beyer dtx 10/20? Wonder which has most bass? Slimming, deep..yea you name it, i'm a basshead but can't afford SuperFi5EB, CK7 lol..cheap mod perhaps?
  17. Hmm bro, I am a basshead too, I've been to Stereo Electronics (not exchange) causeway point, woodlands, a few good bass ones would be definitely the 1 mentioned earlier on by Kehyi, AKG 81DJ ($109). Otherwise try AKG 26P also good but the metal band, kiap my hair..if u wear cap or be more careful, its decent bass! $79 if i am not wrong.. Jaben, I have to be honest, try DT770 for fun ($300+ out of your budget), try out how it manages the bass, sounds very smooth instead of slamming which, akg 81, 26p is better & stronger for what I feel. As well as, DTX700, DTX900, which are also I find the bass, good, there are differences between the two models definitely, so try them out. Grado, I feel MS1 rather good as well, balanced, not too slamming, not too thin. See if its acceptable for you then. Sounds abit cheapskate, but AHP524..if u're willing 2 give it a chance @ $48, PK computers @ funan, i personal find it slamming alot onto my ears, but the signature, definitely you have 2 give it a chance, listen them out. happy listenin, rock on!
  18. hmm! thanks! wonder how you pick up phones with those huh, have 2 plug out the adapter?
  19. Hey guys, any of you have seen W800i audio outs before? I am trying to get 1. Link to W800i Mini HP Jack Out If you guys happen to own desktop chargers of W800i too let me know where you can get them? Thanks! I plan 2 use a headphone, 32 ohms on it, will that gradually kill the phone being it might not be suitable since its not as easy to drive, compared to IEMs, mostly 16 ohms? Please move my thread if I'm posting at the wrong topic! Thanks!
  20. does it sounds like some wind rustling onto the wires? awful kind of noise i must say..those wires i seen from superfi seems rather "sturdy" that its unlikely 4 that to happen?
  21. Saw a white full sized headphones, somebody was carrying a guiatar with it, single sided cable on one of the MRT stations..looks like ICE MAT AUDIO SIBERIA?
  22. Guess what guys..my laptop mobo blew up juz as I always abt to get it..there goes my headphones.. Now i'm squeezing out of my budget 2 get a full headphone for my laptop.. Priority.. 1) Ard $50 or lower 2) Can be driven by laptop 3) Comfort 4) Good Bass (I know given my budget, I can't squeeze much..) Models in mind.. K26P good bass though prefered a full headphone ($70++) that covers whole ear..like HD202 ($30++) Thanks for the help gain guys!
  23. well if u still wonder..my experiences was UM2 has alot more bass than UM1..I'm a basshead as for other clarity details like mids & stuff, i'm not in the right place 2 comment..

Hey bro! I am facing the same problem! I am using ACS54 & I can hear this "bzzzzzzzzzzzzzrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise coming out from the woofer itself without any music playback, I muted everything except wave. I found out the problem was with the woofer as when I tilt it or put it upside down (different orientation) the noise went away, only to come back if I put it in a way it doesn't like it. Time 2 get headphones, replaced all the speakers!
