  2. I have been looking around and there are many kinds of tubes. From what I understand, the Mullard ones are like the best out there. But with regards to a cayin ha-1a, which tubes are "best" for it? Also, is there a shop which helps to replace old tubes? really do not wish to open it up.
  3. Yup toooo expensive for students like me. Headphones still rock!

  6. Paganini for two Performed by Gil Shaham and Goran Sollscher
  7. I have sent you a pm regarding this on hph.
  8. Wow, it looks soo much better that the 1st gen models. Haha, sadly, migrated over to Windows Mobile
  9. Interesting, Shall mark that day down
  10. You can try the Firestone range of DACs, Amps and DAC/Amp Combo. Jaben carries them.
  11. 1st - Source is very important. Thus get Cds and rip them in lossless format 2nd- For a laptop, get a dac and amp. You can try the Fubar 3. Its a DAC and Amp together. No worries as the fubar 3 has a usb connector.
  12. I would go for the Senn. Nice all rounder
  13. What IEMS do u recommend? * Comfort * Punchy bass * clarity I say first, try the Mylar range. If you are still rather itching for something more, then the DTX50. What headphones do u recommend? * Comfort * Punchy bass * clarity Headphones are generally comfortable. Its best, in this area, to go an test them yourself as different people have different wants.
  14. I agree that UE fit is rather problematic. It affects both the SF5 and TF10. But after a while of usage, I managed to use the mylarone X3 small tip for it and it works. Their cable is also another issue but one can use a westone cable for it
  15. I have not heard the zen wav but have compared the Zen Vision M to the Ipod video 30gb. Generally, creative products have a slightly better sound quality than the ipod. But when you take the line out, the ipod wins.
  16. Finally Creative is pumping out products that look nice and have great features.
  17. You can look at the Marantz C5001 OSE which is 80 more than the normal one. I compared the Marantz and the 640c. The marantz is much brighter and its soundstage is not as wide. The reason would be the dual dac of the 640c. The headphone out of the 5001 is decent for just listening. If on a budget, I say get a CDP first. then get an amp.
  18. I think I will just wait and see. Friends have been telling me to go for floorstanding ones with pre and power amps.
  19. Does a Rotel RA-02 amp pair well with the 640c? Also how are the KEF Q35 speakers? Comparable to the nEar 05?
  20. Hey Guys, I am thinking of getting the ESI nEar 05 to pair with my 640c. Currently using a Sonic Gear A6. However, I would like to ask around regarding bookshelf speakers. Are there another well regarded ones. Heard of the Aego M. Hopefully, its actives to save space. Budget is around 400. Really appreciate it!
  21. If you want to get SACDs, go to Roxy Disc House at the adelphi. 2nd highest level. I usually get my cds from him
  22. I personally got the 640c v2 after hearing the NAD 532, marantz 5001 , 5001 ose. I guess, your ears will tell. The Cambridge audio and nad has no headphone out. Alternatively, you can get the Marantz CD 63 TS Lim mod.
