The eggos are not closed....burrowed some from a friend and the isolation isnt too impressive to say it nicely... i think the term semi-closed is pretty close but definitely not closed as people claim they are. I have yet to get a pair of 7506 cans to listen to yet but will get back to u on that. People have been saying that these pair are good for bassy tracks and possibly dj usage as well. One of my other reason for closed backs is that i like to be isolated from my surroundings. Makes it easier to emerse myself into the music n feel it.

some brands have 1 slot cooling...but that said, id rather give up a slot cause the heat that the fx cores give off are defintely not good... id rather watercool that core...

i do agree with u on th 5800 but the 5900 finally introduced the finesse that the fx core needed.. in the efficency department i was refering to how the same code is handled by the different cores. in doom3, the same code has the fx core running almost a third as slow as the ati cores....

worthy buy... *puts on flame armour* Ive been a nvidia evangelist for quite some time but the way they have handled themselves the past few product cycles have lemme put it nicely... SUCK... Driver quality has dropped to practically zero and incompatibilities and glitches are slowly increasing. After reading a few indepth reviews on how the new FX cores work, its very efficent in a way BUT current software does not support most of it except with hacks in newer driver versions and what is worse is that the drivers are not helping due to backward compatibility with the gf4 n below. The Radeons are doing it the way nvidia used to do by goin in with brute force and a relatively inefficent core but with alot of software compatiblity. Thats why u get the radeons blasting away the fx. Driver wise, ati has put in a LOT of work and mad props to them and they have made alot of progress the past months and ive seen drivers that do well for the job they were meant to do. In the case of ati, compatibility is slowly increasing..unlike nvidia.... how the wheel turns....reminds me of what was happening between nvidia and 3dfx...

wednesday 'pay' day....

Ive been looking around head-fi abit and did a couple of searches... reading here n there n didnt really come across anybody bothering to do any cable change mods on the pair of cans... They all keep pointing at the same thing, to go back to sony and change back to another stock cable. Any of u have come across any mods for this cans? I was hoping to maybe make em even better than they could be, any cables to recommend? Is this just wishful thinking on my part?

doh... still got LOTS to learn...

looks like something to dissipate the heat from the tubes...prolly to prolong its lifespan?.. or just something to protect the tubes i suppose...

is there anyway to test if the box cap is working?

The local price list is the only place that listed the location....tomorrow im gonna make another run and try to find it locally....anybody knows and wanna update?
