its not available locally. need to order from overseas. locally only can get the 270mAh 9.6V which is the same size. so yeah just get the 270 9V accupower which is slimmer and you only need to file the contacts.

you have to file the battery contacts down no matter which battery you use. this is the one amb uses. has the slimmest profile. anything other then this (and alkaline 9v) cant fit. fyi. im using the powerex 9v 300mAh. i had to file my battery down.

the only other upgrades id say will be the resistors and the multilayer caps. but still only the resistors are in the signal path.

supposedly according to amb he has calculated and tested that anything higher then 470uf might just be redundant. i have installed elna silmac IIs no different from the panasonic FMs. A/Bed. even if there was it would be ever so slight. or maybe its just me, i couldn't hear a difference.

the caps arnt inside the signal path. its just for holding charges. no point using boutique caps.

the gilmore lite is a limited ed amp from headamp and is not in production anymore. none of the other headamp amps are of the same design (internally) and it comes with a DPS (dedicated power supply) considering shipping (its not light) and the higher conversion rate when he bought it. i really didnt want to butt in but. ezzo please read your facts... as a diyer. maybe the jump is a little too fast. building a psu isnt as simple as you think. maybe try building a SOHA which is a hybrid amp [tube with solid state output stage] before moving to the M3. it will be cheaper too.

if you say that money is no object. these are what i would recommend. Triple.fi 10 pro - extremely well suited for jazz and classical or anything vocal, with adequate bass. E530 - well rounded iem. more bass then the triple.fi but the mids and highs are not as pronounced. the highs are a little rolled off which you may or may not catch. Hornet M - extremely versatile amp. able to drive low to high cans very well. but doesnt deal with hip hop or rap that well imho. very small, super portable battery life is good. Tomahawk - sound signature very similar to hornet m. smaller then hornet. longer battery life than hornet. if you want to take long haul flights. get this 400 hours on a single battery. INSANE. only problem is that it is used to drive mainly iems and will struggle with higher impedance cans. Meier MOVE - i heard this is the FOTM at head-fi. its a little big. and heavy. havent heard it but if what they say is true then it sounds better then the porta corda which is an amazing amp. i'd say this is a very big contender. Xin Supermicro & Supermini - 4 or more months wait. get something else first and order this at the same time

are you attaining a good seal? the ck32s are canalphones. one good symptom of not getting a good seal is thin, no bass.
