  2. (just a light hearted commnet) The last time i asked my friend where to get those, he was saying its one of those things that u get from university/poly open houses.
  3. up, all interested parties pls notify me by this friday
  4. As i have posted before, me and my friend are sharing shipping to westone to get ear molds, with 1 more person to share the earmold, the prices become more reasonable, er4 (style 34) Just to make things clearer, westone soft vinyl-190 silicon-220 shipping will be 100 bucks (fedex) split between everyone who takes part in this, so it will be at most 33. a further 40 bucks will be for the ear impression, total cost for soft vinyl will be about 253, and silicon is 293 for other shures/westone according to aaron from stereo, its 179 including shipping, so i have to check again with him Withdrawn
  5. X2, given your budget bro, imagine a 2nd hand er4 was going for that price some time ago...
  6. dude, if u have decided to go for customs sleeves and want to save on the shipping, please pm me.
  7. one more very important point to note here, the custom sleeves may be interchangable for some iems, like um1, um2, shure 530 all can use um56, but for UE and westome3, the molds are completely different and of a different model, of course not to forget er4 which will require the style 34 earmolds. All ear molds mentioned here are westone, there are other molds but i'm not too sure of it. hence as peanut butter jam mentioned, it is better to settle down on 1 ear piece before getting the mold. These molds are not cheap to begin with, so if u decide to change for example from um2 to ue tf10, the mold made for um2 cannot be reused with the tf10
  8. hey, not a problem bro, i realise that with the thread here, i can still get potential "interested parties". PM me if u are really interested in sharing the shipping with us, i'll try and get the prices for you.
  9. err... I started this thread to find someone to share the shipping for our earmolds, not really to discuss about them... what peanut butter jam meant was to start another thread on the portables section so that people can talk about them. Thanks to heady anyway for the good intentions and quick reaction. Not much of an issue though cos i can easily start another one to look for people wanting to get the molds. to stephan, yes there is and its from westone too, so u can participate if u are interested.
  10. Me and my friend will be making custom ear molds for our earphones from westone. According to stereo, it is possible to share shipping if we can send together. As of the last time i went to stereo shipping by fedex cost 100 for the trip there and back. If more were to share, cost of shipping will go down to by quite a large margin as compared to paying the full 100 for 1 set of molds. Interested parties, please pm me.
  11. x2 for mini3, just change some of the internal caps and resistors, you'll find a change in the sound. Its like a zero dac in portable mode, easily modded, and sounds great. Easily worth 3-4 times its price. For that price range, i'm rather confident in saying that you can't get a better deal.
  12. my cables are not from koba, but koba sells the nicest looking silver plated copper at lowest cost.
  13. braid urself man, use koba silver plated copper... something like what i did for my ksc 75 \
  14. technically, will have reduce the capacitance of the signal to amp, which is not advised... but i find it widens the soundstage. 6.3v will do. But i couldn't find any good caps with that, so i had to make do with 25v
  15. Ok i dun know whether this is the right place to show ur DIY cables (to promote DIY), hope it is, so.... well there goes. ok from left, SXC cable LOD SXC cable with 4.7uf caps Some copper interconnect same copper interconnect with 47uf caps hybrid 6 cable IC i wouldn't want to describe sounds, thats up to everyone's ears, but i would say they sound quite similar to the way they look.
  16. you might want to get those Y junction things from stereo, saw it on the glass panel the last time.
  17. I have worked with several kinds of plugs including switchcraft and neutrik, and i do agree that the switchcraft is definitely easier to work with considering the size working area inside. But with all honesty, would rate the neutrik plug above that of switchcraft anytime. Reason being on close comparison, the neutrik 3.5 head itself is generally larger than that of switchcraft, thus the contact is actually better. furthermore, the insulation between the left ,right and neutral on the 3.5 head is much thicker than that of switcraft. This 2 advantages makes it more friendly to cheaper female jacks that are not as tight as the more expensive ones ie switchcarft female jack. Thirdly, neutrik jacks are all sunken in at the tip making it ideal to any amp with a sunken in hole like the govibe vulcan. the only advantage that switchcraft has over neutrik is the larger cable outlet and the bigger space inside to work with. Yes if we are dealing with larger cables, go switchcraft by all means, but i've seen some cables with merely 3 24 awg cables braided together in a switchcraft jack??? huge lobang filled with hot glue. lastly 4 neutrik jacks for the price of 1 switchcraft??? wheres the justification in that? unless using for huge cables, neutrik would be my preferred choice of jack. to morgan wu: the insides of a pailicc plug is not like the switchcraft or the neutrik... the right channel is exposed on top of the left channel with teflon insulation to separate them, in other words, its the left channel wire has to be longer than the right channel. will upload pictures to further explain
  18. if u aren't too much of a fan of bassy music, perhaps u could give the corda head six or 2 move
