  1. You can get them at stereo. Alternatively u can get them online rather easily.
  2. Er4 prices are pretty much fixed in singapore... you could although try to lok out for jaben's bundles which might get you a nice discount considering the value of the other stuff that is bundled together with it (thats what i did to get mine).
  3. is the MO closed? if not i also want 1 pcb.
  4. nice review. Having owned the DT-1350 myself, i do agree with the mid range emphasis and bass of the dt1350. However, IMO, i had a little issue with the imaging and separation of the headphones. Although true that it has the entire frequency spectrum, it just doesn't quite separate as well as larger counter parts such as the hd600, dt880...
  5. trace the route of the messed up hole, find a place where it is shorted to and chose to the surface. Remove some of the photo resist and solder a wire to it.
  6. actually, its all over sim lim tower, you can get them pretty easily there.
  7. Nope, its not ur ears getting accustomed, Livewires indeed take ages to burn in. I personally felt they were worse than my pk3s initially. But now i barely want to take them off once they are on. They have a very nice mid range IMO, although mine are only LW2. About price, i must say livewires are just about the cheapest customs u can get, and definitely value for money. Although not comparable to many other well known customs out there, but definitely worth the amount paid...
  8. yes they do everything there, just have to turn up and tell them you want a livewire. But be warned of the considerably long waiting time.
  9. I own a dt880 and hd600 personally and i personally feel that they have their different flavours. The 880s have a relatively better high freq response but kind of messed up the instrumental seperation in my opinion. I feel that the 600s are one of the better headphones in terms of vocal and instrumental seperation and i suppose thats pretty important to audiophiles. As to which is better that will really depend on your ears and your personal taste. But i do listen to rock and alternative as well and i find myself listening to the 600s more than the 880s. just my opinion.
  10. u can get them at koba as well. But i think LHS has a better range. They also hold wattgate and other exotic brands.
  11. try koba at 3rd floor, people's park centre. they keep quite a wide variety of affordable/audio-grade capacitors. If i'm not wrong they do stock wima caps.
  12. Hi, i'm not sure if u receive my email yesterday, i'm wondering if it is possible to get some bulk twcu cable from whiplash. I'm looking at 12 foot plus a furutech 1/4 inch phono connector FP704 which is advertised on the website. Thanks.
  13. i think you're looking more for heavy bass. You can go down to stereo and try out some of their bassier options. I believe there should be quite a range for u to choose from. Just go down, describe ur preference to one of the workers there and i'm sure they'd be more than willing to help u out.
  14. Very true. Thats why i'm still keeping my 3 year old original mylarone x3... the build quality of these aren't very good, but still the drivers usually never spoil, rather it is the cable and usually at the 3.5 mm connector portion of the earphone. I'm still yet to find the right cables for these earphones though...
  15. After a long chat with Andy at jaben and testing out the WT3 and the SE530s, i finally realised why they are sounded so different. Indeed there are probably some differences inbetween the wt3 and the um3x but then again its all about the westone's sound signature vs the shures. In my opinion, buth have their good and bad points. I would take a neutral stand since i've sworn my loyalty with etymotics. Before we talk about the sound, we must first look at their target audience. Westone designs their earphones more for studio/monitoring purposes. This explains the higher clarity better seperation. I personally feel that there is a clear distinction between the highs / mids and lows. In fact they are taken so far apart that it sound really artificial to me. Then again, this is what is required as a monitoring earphone. Due to this huge separation between the freq ranges, there is a sense of a large sound stage. To me however, its just artificial. Shures on the other hand are designed for another purpose, for personal listening. This is the reason why it tends to be smoother, bassy, somewhat muddy and overall easier to listen. Indeed due to this merging of the freq ranges, it may seem as if it isn't as detailed as the WT3 or that its soundstage isn't as good. Perhaps because they find it easier to listen to when it is done this way. In conclusion, both these brands have their own strengths and weaknesses mainly because they have a different approaches for target audience when they designed their earphones. Westone having a history of designing more for montoring and shure inclined towards personal listening.
  16. I hate to say this but, bad choice bro... not to say that their products aren't good. but i recently bought a 4% silver solder from them and it can barely stick on my connector. Most of the time, i ended up mixing it with normal 60/40, tin/lead. However viewpoints may differ from person. As a beginner, i'd advice going for normal 60/40 or the 2% silver. I can't say anything about the mundorf silver solder since i'm yet to try.
  17. in terms of looks and build quality, i think the Viablue 3.5 mm is better. However do consider cost, for the price of 1 viablue, u can easily buy 2 switchcraft jacks. Do consider pailicc plugs, you can get them from koba. Very handsome plugs which are slightly more expensive than neutrik, but cheaper than switchcraft and viablue. You might want to neutrik first as it is the cheapest and relatively easy to solder.
  18. don't really know where u can get mogami, but you can get canare star quad cables from LHS at SLT. you're either looking at a 3.5mm stereo connector or 1/4" stereo, both you can get from SLT. You can get cheap ones for as low as ard $1.50. However there are better looking plugs that cost a little more all available at SLT. gd luck hunting around.
  19. agreed... i once tried pulling out a component from my petite, ended up tearing the whole top layer of the pcb... Never pull the components out
  20. sounds like a volume pot problem.... cos i still own 2 mini3s myself. One of its problems is that the huge volume imbalance when turning up the first quater of the pot. You can try changing the pot to something else. U can get one easily from koba, a 10k ohms integrated switch alps pot......RK0971221Z05. gd luck.
  21. btw, radioactive28, where did u get the connectors to recable the er4?
  22. five stars for the bulk cables, espacially the twcu, really easy to work with and sounds really good, full marks from me.
  23. for etys, one of the pins is slightly larger than the other, so there is little confusion about the polarity
