  1. For 470uf and 100uf, get panasonic FM from farnell. DONT get the FC series they have. They are oversized. I got them and cant fit. Lol. I had to hook one of them up with 25mm wires to fit cos the extra leads are long gone. Btw, does anyone know if the extra wire length will affect the amp in anyway? 2x 25mm long, AWG20 wires.
  2. I have not heard Dt990 act. But reviews looks promising. Def going to try them out if Im buying. As for D2000, I have read its a good phone too but not exactly audiophile phone? Is there any shops around in Sg that sells D2000? I did not really consider it as I dont know of any shops in Sg that sells it. The price is act cheaper than dt990 from where Im getting, <400SGD. Have anyone heard both before??
  3. hahaha. You guessed correctly. Im done with the amp alr. Managed to Assemble it in a few hours. Works perfectly now, Jus without the case. Not bad for my first amp. Hehe I got all my parts from farnell. I have to say. This amp is awesome man. Both in terms of topology and sq, AND VALUE. Its amazing for the price. Thou I'd def prefer more bass from it Btw, those who have not built it, thermal compound is def needed! The op amp and regulator gets rather warm(hot) esp when running off 12V DC. And the battery compartment is small, better check if it fits before buying.
  4. Okay! DT990 seems to be the way to go! Considering the price of DT990 2005 are around the same as Denon D2000 Thanks guys for the info! I gonna check out how dt990 pro sounds first thou, since its so much cheaper.
  5. If thats the case.. The kit by Jeff seems to be quite a good deal. Prob save alot of time too
  6. I'm withdrawing from this group buy. 1. iewgnail - 2 set 2. redstx - 1 set 3. mouz - 1 set 4. DemonicAngelz - 1 set 5. adn6244 - 1 set 6. heady - 6 sets 7. kross - 2 sets
  7. That wld be my next diy amp, in the future, hopefully. Haha. Working on my Ckk3 now.. It sure looks awesome man! Is it a S22 PSU inside the hammond? Anyway, I wonder how much did you spent on the amp and psu in total, including cases?
  8. I have gotta myself another amp, so I wldnt be starting this group buy. You can request for the order form, which states the price of everything. The price on the website actually includes US shipping, which is 10USD, so dont be mistaken. The shipping is for the whole kit, weighs 3pounds. That price is probably the cheapest for that weight.
  9. Group Buy Participants 1. iewgnail - 2 set 2. ezzo - 1 set Btw, you left out the GST, which will be added after the final discounted price.
  10. Hope to see it the grp buy soon man. I op for the plastic panels too.
  11. Yep, thats me Btw, is anyone starting a group buy on the case??
  12. How sad.. I'd prefer this to n95... !!!
  13. Just to make my point. There is a typo in my last post. I meant "know-nothing-nowhere-but-singapore". I am not talking about the government meaning it was an example actually. Well, if you are not talking about the government then I have no idea what you are talking about, really. To have a rebate here in this forum is probably not a good idea either. You mods are sure hardworking. Well done
  14. Absolute0, I do not get what you are trying to say, but do not explain. I am not talking about the government. I am talking about the forum, too many rules defies the purpose of a forum, whats a forum for. Regarding what you said, it is typical no-nothing-but-singapore view. Well, I dont care
  15. Agreed, Nonsense. Singapore is a small country and deals are very probably all carried out in with meetings in person, Cash On Delievery, so risks of getting cheated is rather small. However, on Head-fi, its a totally different thing. There are so many people around, and the country is so big, even international sales. The deal goes, the buyer pays the seller, then the seller ships the good. But how can the buyer determine the quality of the good? No way. Pictures? Na, it doesn't work. So the way to determine the quality on Head-fi is by reputation. You would definately trust someone who have 100+ post than one with less than 50 posts. Therefore, there is such a rule on Head-fi. Sgheadphone? We all can check on the goods in real before we even pay the seller. Any risk would be greatly reduced. And anyway, not like there is a lot of complains/junk threads regarding the classified section After all, this IS a forum, for us to talk yea. Rules rules rules, you sound like the Sg government. Fine next? Jus kidding
  16. Yeaa, you sure did put in a lot of effort mouz! Just have something to suggest, based IMO. The hammond case which the PCB is designed for have two designs. The FIRST one with all plastic front/end panels that cups the case in the front and back alittle (its rather hard to describe). So lets say, trying to fix the panels of one would be like: Front panel - Case - End panel The SECOND design has Al panels instead, flat Al panels, but they are not screwed on directly onto the case. It has the plastic front and end panels (like the previous design) and works the same. BUT, the plastic panels are hollow, that means the flat Al panels covers the hollow part of the plastic cover. And it would be like this: Al panel - Plastic panel - CASE - Plastic panel - Al panel (front and end panels are the same for both design) Sorry for such long description, just trying to make things easy for those who have not seen the hammond case. Hope everyone understand what I'm trying to say SO, the question is, is it possible for to work on the Al panels that comes with the case? IMO, I prefer the original hammond panels to the one design by AMB, it gives the amp a 'fuller' look. A fine example of the original Hammond case(with plastic panels) is the mSeed Spirit Amp. What do you guys think?
  17. Thats all?? The price difference between them is quite a lot. DT990 2005 cost almost twice as much as DT990 Pro in US
  18. Does anyone know how does a Pro version compare to 2005 version?
  19. Well, it seems like Pro versions are for Asia market and (2005) versions are for the US market. I compared the looks, DT880 (2005) looks different from DT 880 Pro, same thing for DT990..
  20. Hmmm, so DT880(2005) is basically DT880 PRO? I went to check Beyer's website and they only showed DT880 PRO and DT990 PRO. Rather confusing.. Gotta try them out at Jabens myself Oh, btw, the high impedence of 250ohms would probably explain for why it sounded like that.
  21. Haha. Up to US$300. Still gonna decide on which I would get depending on the value of the headphone itself. Btw, do you know the difference between DT880, DT880(2005), DT880 PRO and DT990(2005), DT990 PRO? The price of the version varies quite abit..
  22. Yea, probably due to the fact that Audio-Technicas are hard to get in US and Europe and expensive, hence getting less attention. Certain Sony headphone are really good too. There are many reviews on headphonereviews.org that highly rates such headphones
  23. She seriously looks like she's promoting SE: more pictures of the shop than headphones. LOL! I really doubt the reliability... And considering the W5000 cost way more than AD2000, just hard to believe. Haha.
  24. Haha. How does it compare against W1000? Though W1000 has a cheaper price tag and it seems to be well liked at head-fi
  25. Haha. L3000 will prob be on my wish list. Alrights. Thanks for your advise aaron-xp!
