    My CMOYs

Where did you get the tin from? I am looking around for the Fisherman's Friend rectangle tin but can't seem to find it nowadays. Thinking of doing up this CMoy amp at the end of the month when I got more time. Thinking of making it real small and truely portable Are there any other designs that are as ultra compact as this?
  2. Would a pre-amp built in this way be very susceptible to interferences (from various outside sources)?
  3. ohh.... I love London. Spent 7 years there. Absolutely love that city. PEople complain about the weather and its `greyness'. But I think it adds an unique character. Anyway, I am not much of a sunny, hot weather myself. Much prefer the cold, greyish outlook. Kind of calming and soothing. Should have stayed on and not left.........sigh.....
  4. I too got an email regarding a class action against PayPal. Is it a hoax?
  5. what's the range of your smaller one? Does it come in one or one pair? A bit pointless to buy if it is the only one. Wouldn't find buying if is comes in a pair. Can use it with my friend's car during regualr drive to KL
  6. CAn anyone help me to build a tube amp?
  7. What about selling your V2 to me and get this one? I am looking for an amp with a pre out. Too bad this doesn't have a pre-out.
  8. agreed. Not a good idea. Can perforate your ear drum
  9. aiyah. if subsidised rate, not more than $30. I think...
  10. Just go to any ENT clinic. Cheaper alternative is the ENT clinic in Government's hospital. To get subsidised rate, go to polyclinic and get a referral to a hospital ENT clinic of your choice. Another DIY alternative - 2 drops of olive oil into your blocked ear 3 times a day. After about 2 weeks, the ear wax will soften and dislodge itself as you speak. But the above is only applicable for blocked ear due to ear wax. Doesn't work for hearling loss due to other condition. In doubt please go see your GP or Polyclinic doctor.
  11. I know. Ablaze's Gilmore is actually a copy of te Gilmore model, I think. But sadly out of my budget. Will keep looking. Thanks for the advice so far. Say, what's your latest hfi gadgets or want so far? Ver yaddictive hobby this is
  12. Hi Mackie. yep we did comminucate befor in Echoloft. Wow sounds good. You mean I have to buy a X-can V2 and do the above mods? Or do you know some one who can do a DIY with good results? What about a Gilmore amp? Any experience with them? Cheers
  13. Well, I have nothing to compare a X-can V2 to except for a Creek OBH-11. X-can is definitely better. But somehow, I still find it a tad grainy. But the budget I set a side for the hp amp is about $250-300. Hence I think my best bet is a 2nd X-can V2 amp. My setup is a MF A3 amp and CDP. Music taste varied but lean towards more on POP, rock and vocal Tried various headphone - HD600, Dt-880, SR 225 and 325. Lean towards the DT-880 and SR325
  14. I am using a Musical Fidelity setup. Hence looking for a x-can V2 to match. Does anyone has a 2nd to let go? Or anyone who DIY and sell similar or better amp. Thaks
  15. I am currently using Musical Fidelity setup which doesn't come with a HP jack. Does anyone here build and sell DIY HP amp? Hopefully better than the X-can V2 amp Anyone?
  16. Total newbie here when it comes to headphones. If my amp doesn't have a headphone jack, how do I connect a headphone to it? Can I just get a handphone amp and connect it to one of my amp input like AUX? And then connect the HP to the HP amp? Will that work? If so, what would be a good set to start off with for a budget of $200-300? Don't mind second hand Thanks
