  1. imo the b&o A8 is only slightly better than the sony mdr e888, the 2 are pretty similar sounding to me, jus that A8 has a better fit in my ears and is smoother
  2. okie thanks alot, anyone has this specific one made by sky audio?
  3. no retarded comments please, next.
  4. 3rd pic, its done by digi01 from our forum
  5. oh yah i screwed up a little on the neutrik jack installment, it has a tiny little gap due to misjudgment of the position of the hole needed for the installment of the jack.
  6. wanna sell a diy lc-king headphone amp, total amount spent on it inclusive of neutrik 1/4 headphone jack and some other capacitors here and there, roughly 300. willing to let go at 80, dun need it anymore as im using another amp. sound is not bright, a little laid back due to the 627/637 opamp. very friendly to the ears. quite detailed. http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=2543
  7. may i know more about this? whats a DAC? what does it do? how to connect them to the cdp? how much improvement can i get out of it? thanks
  8. okay read the reviews on head-fi, it sucks in most cases

  10. haha yeah den when u go clubbing u can try hittin on some chicks "hey i got a 1000 dollar headphone at home, wanna come try? heh heh heh"
  11. i know its ur own views, but how can there only be 5 percent difference in the sound between the sennheiser and the grados, those 2 headphones produce 2 totally different kinds of sound. haha did u by any chance say this to the seller "hey my sharp mini hifi sounds pretty similar to ur cary cdp!" , and regarding your "YMMV", my personal findings is a world apart from yours.
  12. no offence man, but i tink you got problems with your ears
  13. someone recommended me Jobim, who is he? is that fella good?
  14. oh yah, i also came across miles davis's "b*tches brew", and i had a chance to listen to it at a cd shop. thats what i call crazy music man. i wouldnt even call it music, so weird man.
  15. i had a listen to miles davis's funny valentine, its quite a weird piece. the mood changes abruptly, similar to progressive rock/metal, like what dream theater does. i only like the sweet piano parts, miles davis's trumpet solos are pretty depressing to listen to. man if someone was suicidal, this would definately finish the job
  16. recently i heard Dave Brubeck's "take five" and i fell in love with it instantly. Previously i hated Jazz to the core, couldnt accept this kind of music at all. but this song totally got me interested in Jazz. Those familiar with Jazz or Dave Brubeck in particular, any recommendations? isit safe to say most of brubeck's works are similar to take 5?

  22. regarding the crossfeed, ill spend more time listening to it and see if it grows on me. To my ears right now, the difference with and without crossfeed is very subtle. On the other hand my friend tells me the difference is really obvious and he enjoys music with minimal crossfeed (1st lvl crossfeed). i found the cause of the brightness. Its the sony x3000 cd player thats causing the brightness. i changed to the marantz 63mkii and the brightness is gone, but i still dont like that player. man, at this point of time i do not have any intentions to down big money on a better player, so any other roundabouts?
  23. oh yah guys isit normal for the volume knob when plugged into the 120ohm socket to be at 11.30 direction in order to match the volume when plugged into the 0ohm socket at 9oclock direction? the seller told me the volume difference is very slight, i dun tink this is considered slight?
  24. the change to the corda is like removing this very thick veil from the music, its really bright now and i need to tame it, it isnt tolerable. on the plus side, its much much much more detailed than the diy amp, soundstaging improved heaps. the crossfeed function is pretty stupid imo. it makes listening more comfortable, but at the expense of a degrade in audio quality imo. can changing the power cable for the corda amp tame brightness? as for changing of source, i have another player the marantz 63mk ii (the one with the gold signature) which my dad got for pretty damn near free from a second hand shop as it was "spoilt", recently changed the lens and its now workin perfectly fine. comparing the sony with it, i prefer the sony. The marantz has bloated bass and is too warm for my liking.
