Thats what I thought when I first received my PA2V2. Now after burning in the amp and listening to it more often I can actually hear the difference. The bass is tighter and the mids have more detail.

Is it that good for it's pricetag? 200+ bucks if I remembered correctly.

Recommendations for cheap closed headphones
acidboy84 replied to red_ryder's topic in Portable Audio
What are you looking for? Active or passive noise cancelling? The PX200 fits his budget nicely. It's a closed earphone but not too sure how's the isolation as never heard it. For adapter, what airline is he taking. Read somewhere here that some airlines has different jacks. -
Me too but the idea of having batteries for the phones did turn me off. Imagine bringing your player, amp(maybe) and the active noice cancelling phones around. I was wondering if the active noice cancelling phones has a built amp?

If you live near Woodlands maybe you can try Stereo at Causeway Point. They do sell Grado pads.

What's the difference between this and the normal A900? The price difference is quite alot.

With or without the sample tips?

What I gathered is that the UM2 has better highs. I haven heard the UM2 though. And from experience the E4c doesn't have piercing highs if compared to my Grados.

What are you connecting to. Is it the iPod Video stated in your signature. I have the Shure E4c and the bass and mids are not bad just what you require. And it does it's job right with the iPod Video unamped as I tested mine with my friend's iPod.

Any idea how much both the mini adapter and the extension cable costs?

The links are at my first post.

Tested sending myself a picture and the upload took more than 5 min for a 2MB file.
-
What's the catch? Can't seem to get anything. Must be feeling quite paranoid.
-
Are you refering to the Shure E2c earbuds?

Alrite thanks Absolute0.

Looks spooky at night man...

The Audio Techinica A900 seems to get alot of recommendation. Is just slightly out ofyour budget range.
-
The question where to upload? Which server is good enough to host? Noob in this matter.
-
I forgot the link man. I can upload the songs but the size is huge 300MB+!
-
What glass head are you refering to?

My source? I'm using my PC as the main source though I'm planning to get a CDP and a better amp next year. Then I just bring my PCDP and my Hi-MD unit and record the music in PCM(at least can bring less cds). I also heard that is better to go to MbD during the week day right? Must make appointment?

Hey how's the T amp. Sorry for my ignorance, what is exactly a pre-amp? Been reading those in the forums but don't ring any bells.
-
Sorry for the typo. I wasn't keeping all for myself but rather to 'reserve' for you guys. Oh well, since you're getting it I guess no need to reserve already.

Thanks for the point. I'm sure to audition the cans. But now undecided between the ATH-A900 and SR-325i. I love the Grado sound but could be bias as I never heard AT or Senns(Grado is my 1st cans). What do you recommend to bring for auditioning? When I first bought my SR-80 I used my portable Hi-MD player to audition it. It was ok as I was planning to pair these 2 back in camp(still serving NS but 3 months left). I know that the SR-325i is better with an amp but the only amp that I have is the PA2V2. The reason why I'm jumping straight to the SR-325i as I don't want to keep upgrading after a while. My SR-80 is barely 3 months old, so you have the rough idea.

Thanks for the clarification. So is there any specific songs to use. Those with heavy bass or maybe extremely high treble?
