Check for your cable sleeve, if it has words that is "RG-59" then it should be 75ohm. By the way the impedance is 'characteristic impedance', not the impedance(resistance) that you can measure with multimeter directly, but determined by the material, diameter etc, and no matter how long it will still be 75ohm characteristic impedance. (Of course the longer the stronger the noise interference)

Good thread..it is so cold here.. Didn't realize that resistor do affect the sound signature..I though that as long as it is accurate it will be fine.. So what is the type for those Sim Lim Tower resistors? You may add in potential meter into the list..

Looks like you got the same choices as mine.. CDP you may go down to Adelphi to have a good listen.. What ical recommended should be a great choice.. On last headphone meet I was impressed by the sound of Astin Trew..

You need a big headphone.. I have ESW10 as well, but no matter how poison the sweetness of ESW10's mids can't beat the higher fidelity sound of my big headphone DT990..you may consider any one of big headphones..DT990, HD650, K701, etc.. For the music source, I leave this to the Masters in this forum...How much is your budget? CDP will never die..even vinyl is living well..for music server you may need to buy high quality audio record like from Linn Records, or search for "ahem" to download..

Good case work..It looks it need a lot of measuring and drilling work to do.. Yes..Looks like the tube and socket don't come cheap and easy.. The resistors looks big size for higher wattage.. So the schematics is for one stage amplification for one channel? Rectifying to DC required from transformer? The amp have 4 transformer, and the five tubes..So it is just series the different amplification stages? Drive speaker driver just for testing? Sorry newbie here..

I do wish it can output to my NX-03, and the tube pre-amp is a selling point for me, as last time I was surprised by a tube buffer during the meet. If the buit in amp can surpass NX-03 then I may bang my head on the wall, buy it and sell away NX-03 without doubt. Let's see how the manufacturer solve this issue. If preamp volume is not controlled, it may bypass the volume pot(which may degrade sound quality) I do prefer preamp out is not muted when headphone is plugged in, and so I can do A-B comparing..

The price and multiple functions sound interesting.. Would like to try with HD800 for its performance...How is the size? And the 翔声's DAC-01 looks exactly the same, but who cares if you can't try and get it easily in Sg..

On the meet jig_sg's rig(the electrostatic amp) has some maintenance work..Anything happen to the electrostatic amp?

After I saw Darkkopi picture, I think I shall get one DSLR as well..but not now.. Was too busy in these few days..... So here's my turn..will just briefly give some impressions.. Darkvoice..my first time to use mono potentiometer...Left and right separated.. Headroom Desktop Balance Headphone Amplifier..Powerful amp.. Little Dot MK4 SE..This amp is the second hot amp..I mean the temperature of the casing.. The hottest amp in this meet is the Amtech HA-1(forgot to take the picture)..I though my hand is holding a furnace..but it really sounds good.. No complain for the sound.. HP4..It can drive any headphones...Maximum 4 headphone without any problem.. No complain to use it with HD800(Stock Cable)..The bass is finally there.. Gilmore Stat. Amp with HE60,He Jade, 007.. This is the first time I have the chance to hear the electrostats headphone equipement..Thank you jig_sg!!!! I feel HE60 bass is a bit to much, 007 is just right. Maple Amp..Sounds very good with RS1.. Soha DIY built..Sounds musical when I use with HD800.. Apache Amp..Which is one of the only few balanced amp in this meet.. Bass is strong and just nice.. Now here's the 2 setups I love it most in this meet.. I think is ASTINtrew CD player->ical's Phonitor->and my HD800(Stock Cable) The music is sooooooo sweet..Mids is perfect...I love its female vocal..there must be some magic within this setup.. Another magic..that makes me jaw drop long way... theory_87's rigs..Discontinued Rio Karma->Yaqin CD1 Tube Buffer w Mullard E88CC->Graham Slee Novo-> my HD800(Stock cable..remember to change back to stock cable when listen to this rig or else no more magic) Super MUSICAL equipment..Maybe far away from HIFI, but nearest to the MUSIC... The other one thing that make me jaw drops is Mundorf cable by kds5000..This is where HD800 shine with its BASS..Ultimate SLAM....This is where you enjoy the Male Bass and drums..Of course when there're pros, there're cons as well..Mundorf cable mids was not that good compare with stock cable. Black Dragon have more bass and better texture detail compare with stock cable, I hope it has the same slam as Mundorf cable.. RWA's Isabellina HPA sound so smooth... My Rudistor NX-03 didn't perform in this meet..no more source..Next time I shall come in earlier to grab a CD source for it... Thanks again for everyone!!

Seems like a risky investment ...40X6m=$240..HD800 proprietary connectors not included, around USD40/per pair without shipment..and a good SE 1/4" jack, audiophile grade solder and skills(with a good temperature controllable soldering iron. It will not be easy to handle the HD800 connectors soldering as well).. The cable sounds interesting and promising for its bass performance, but I still prefer a readily made cable at the moment.. Aron, APS cable not ready yet before Can Slam?
