But after listening to the ED8 and ED9 to my amp. I have good cause to say I personaly like or not. Just bring that thing in a bask at the Ultrasones highest cans.

The Demo might have been bought off and Aaron really had his hands full for a couple of months since he opened the 2nd store. I don't believe he would do any modding for the meantime. that guys deserves some rest. So just visit and get used to the ED8 and Ed9 sound signature when and if a modded 780 comes around you can have a good assesment of it.

Yup even cable design and the smaller footprint would really translate to a portable can. In any case. It's been suggested from forums and those people who initailly tried the ED8 outside the country that the ED8 + Phonitor Combo is STUNNING! Really want to try this. But it wouldn't really bite me that hard. Now longing for a G...

Did you read the part of the review on the SOLO SRG w/ the HD800. It looks promising considering some one's using a SOLO SRG preamped w/ a tube. The Tube might give the HD800 a touch or warmth and control the highs in theory. Just imagine how the HD800 would sound on that system. I believe I might get a chance to hear a HD800 soon.

Nice Rig Allan! I may say you have a very good setup already seeing the CEC as a transport to you Benchmark and finally a Earmax Silver. Your rig seems to be better than mine. For tweaks try the link below: http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=9874 My advise start with Footers a Disc Mat and some QR8s. then try the other tweaks after. As with the DARTH ELDERS (not mentioning people like Jig, Kidult and Cal ). The biggest effect of the tweaks are usually at Source. If you have time you can clean your connections with Contact Cleaners then apply Some Sill Clear or Caig Pro Gold. this will give you immediate improvement. *As your starting on tweaks... I have to say sorry for your wallet.

Waah! Just saw my Credit Card last night and have to stop buying for a while. I should have heeded Cal's warning on Amazon. I ended up buying 30 CDs in one go. Lol! Now used up my Birthday money for this month. I was planning to buy something for myself. I guess CDs will do. Anyway I ended up buying connectors and tweaks instead of my planned Kingrex PSU upgrade. I found considerable difference in upgrading the line to my Distributor. Furutech UK Plugs + 004 IECs very good combo. I am still testing its vibration control properties but as a tuning tweak. Just place one on top of the CDP I find it sways presentation back or forward. more Mids on the Texarium Side and The Bass better on the Carbon side. Will have more time to play with this later today.

There are portable and desktop varitions. For portable visit the usual suspects in draining Wallet. LoL! Jaben at Adelphi and Stereo electronics now at Plaza Singapura and it's original Location at Causeway Woodlands For Desktop, you can buy some locally from local distributor and some thru the Web only. Stello is bought thru the wed. belcanto, Dacmagic and Benchmark at Adelphi just make a round thru the floors. Jaben also brings in the Lavry and the Zero. But all I listed are wallet KILLERs. you can also consider China brands which are usually more afordable. @OP If you plan to use USB as the transport. you might want to get ASIO4ALL. its a supplement driver that couples with windows driver to help provide better quality. (Personal Definition. Lol!) =)

Eric using a last stretch strategy. hehehe! Simple but good. Just want to add the Kingrex PSU eric loaned is definitely something to look at if you own a AR RR-77. The PSU provides another avenue to tweak the RR-77 further. Suprisingly it not only lets the RR-77 provide its impressive soundstage. But it also gives a different presentation for a Can. I can only relate what I've heard on the RS1. The PSU pulls the forward vocals abit further back and brings forward the intrumental background. The timbre and the splash of cymbals was a delight. The Bass was even clearer as it was brought forward. the Vocals do not loose out but are just presented on a different layer. With all this the separation was just astounding. It also changed my W1000 presentation too. But will keep it to myself until I have my own PSU. Thanks ERIC! @Cal Since you have an ED8. You might want to look at these. http://zino.ultrasone.com/
