Where you brought the marantz player from ??? IF it from the shop that you send to repaired ( same shop ) you might want to give them a call and advise you futher ?? or you can raised that the same problem had arise and ask them whether exchange for a new set izzit possible ! cos it keep breaking down on the same problem ! By the way how many months had you just got the player ??

try out 'ART FRIEND' at bugis they should have those equipment ( but expect to pay a little more $$ )

Well for Dt 880 to pair up with a amp and listen to a non dedicated source/mp3/gaming phone/computer it maybe over kill for some and you may tend to find faults with MP3 as the formate is being compress and it is loss in the quality ( well if you don't mind go ahead ) .... so i suggest you try out first before making any purchase i remember someone is selling grado Sr-80 in the classifed you can check it out there For after a long wear it maybe uncomfortable is very subjective for one person. I heard before the V6 is a very nice cans .. and you can fold it and bring it out well it means very portable !! and is worth the money. if you can wait ... wait for a second hand also look out for the condition! !!

O.o man finally your setup is up and running .. i am glad that you like the CDP ... marantz have a house sound so if you really plan to upgrade in the future ( which i hope many years later ) try to get a marantz player !!! agaiN! O.o ya ... it will take time to burn in your cans and cable so allow sometime for it to settle time But most important just enjoy the music ... ! Dance to the music

ya i remember that mackie mentions that he did burn in the cables so i think you should try burning in the cable for a few hours to see the differences !! ENjoy

Had i got all the criterias ?? The criterias are as follows: 1. Must be an SGH member. (that why i can post) 2. Must be a regoinal member (SEA). (oie i am A Singaporean) 3. Must not already own an account (give others a chance).( never had one or even heard until i saw this thread) 4. Post why I deserve it. I can use this as my storage for my files, from school and back home and even backup. i can trade my files with my friends whenever i go to their house when they need to extract file from me( sorry not all of my friends own a ZIP drive). I don't own a thumbdrive ... and all i got is my ZIP disc (very small space only 100 MB allow) but always run out of space haiz. Too many BIG files needed to store inside for example bitmap file from scans .. Those Pics are really big in size ( in term of space) ( sorry my house have no scanner ) needed high quality scans for my webpage project.( haiz demand from teachers ). And i have the same thinking with "Goondu" it is really cool to own one ! but if there are people who needs it more than me please by pass me Thanks

kenstyle take sometime in this forum and read some previews that had been posted before .... you will find more than what is going to be reply in your thread later. some shops allows audition, go try out AT SLS basement for cdp ( i think so ) bring along your cans and amp if you have one !! the original master amp is a very good beginning amp for most starters who have limited budget !! i had heard it once but that unit is not a fully burn/run in but it sounds good !! Blus advise is very good for a started and bear in mind that USE CDP are better range for buget ! and somemore i believe most owners take very good care of them ! No it's just the time remaining that suddenly dissappears for that slight pause. plus even though the cd is free of any blemishes it will still have that pause within an hour of playing...i could still bring it down to the shop i bought it from to have it checked? Btw the slight pause was not me pressing pause or anything like that, it happened. i think you better send down for the repair before your warranty is over !! better play safe and ya know what the problem But i think is not b'cos the CDP get too hot that the reason maybe some other factors are affecting it !! so better be careful of the surrounding !! of your CDP

i think you should read the instruction booklet that is provided first. maybe when in pause mode the LCD switches itself off .. as Marantz CD5400 can switch off the LCD when ever the user like. If anything wrong you can bring down the player to the shop you buy and have a check !

most people either run in using the mini-compo or via your computor using MP3 as the source ! so how the sound of the Hd 650 ?? i guess previews must be coming out pretty soon as it seem like is going to hit the 500 hours burn in soon !

When you say upsampling, are you refering to the Marantz CDP? If so, which model of the Marantz cdp has upsampling? Coz I am looking for an upsampling cdp. What do you mean by : price is not a major factor other than budget ? sorry lengCM ... i think i make a mistake in my typing Sorry i got confuse and mess up is not upsampling ...
