  1. I wouldn't think so! My Yamaha CDX 1050 is also rather old, dunno how old exactly... I like it You should try to listen to it! If the sound is good, take it. Most older players have a very high standard in terms of their build. My Yamaha weighs about 10 kg. Its drive is made of metal You won't (at least not for a few hundred...) find this nowadays. If it's looking good too, sounds good: go get it! I'm sure that it will last pretty long. But as always your taste in sound will have to decide and you should have a look at new players from NAD or Rotel or whatever... They are building very fine players for not too much money. And another word of advice! Such old players like the Denon you mentioned are often overpriced, at least at eBay or whatever...
  2. Right now it is 4 o'clock in the morning and I have finished partying It took several minutes to type this, the beer and the other stuff helped a lot You really don't want to know how often I had to retype some words...
  3. Yes, the beer will help tu fullfil my plans for the evening
  4. Just about the same I'm going to do except that I'll be going out with friends on the days between christmas and the new year Well, by the way, I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
  5. Hehe, thanks But I'll have to wait another day, I don't know about you, but with me it's still the 18th december and my birthday is on the 19th... But tomorrow I will and and maybe even But the day after I will look either like this or like this PS: My setup will have to wait a long long time I guess First priority is to get a better car and sometime after that comes a new setup. I'm enjoying my CDs anyway
  6. No, thanks a lot but a VW is the last car for me to get Every secound person has one in Germany, well, not really Actually, I'm looking forward to something with driving comfort like a Citroen Xantia
  7. Hi I'm finally back and must say that I have no money at all to spend... I guess, I need a new used car My good ole Peugeot doesn't want to do it any longer or at least it feels like that...
  8. How is the Corda connected to the source? I know that the Rega will have to be plugged into my normal amp via tape out or something. Is the Corda a standalone unit? Which I actually would prefer...
  9. Oh, I found out that a Rega Ear will cost me about 230 Euro whereas the Corda is quite a bit more expensive. Which one is better? Especially for the HD 600?
  10. My only question right now is whether someone knows a place in germany to get an amp!? It may be an online-shop, I don't mind
  11. Thanks @ Firefox Well, ok then, which amp which interconnect would you recommend?? Btw, I like my HD 600
  12. Oh, all I own are just some cheaper interconnects and no special power cords and I even don't have a headphone amp I think without an amp there won't be a really big difference in terms of sound Hence my question whether to buy an amp or completely other headphones which like to be driven without an amp! BTW: I also have a pair of Philips HP 890 lying 'round here. There are way harder to drive as my Sennheisers! They don't go really loud. Ever since I've been hearing that the Sennheisers don't go loud enough... Can someone explain?
  13. Hi there! I've got a little problem It's my birthday next month and, well, christmas. This means that I will be able to spend around 500 for my system if i sell my Sennheiser HD 600. What would you recommend me to buy? A good amp for 300 Euro or completely new headphones for 500? My source is a Yamaha CDX 1050 which I don't want to change. The other possible investition would be new loudspeakers and then I'd be able to shell out a mere 600 after selling my current ones (Quadral Taurin MK III). The product to purchase may be new or used, I don't really mind =) Hope you're having some good suggestions!
  14. @Tension: I know the sentence pretty well Here's another one I like: This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy. Btw: I have no avatar
  15. Hmm... I own a Yamaha CDX 1050. I'm able to turn off the digital out on the back. Just a small little switch I wonder if I will note the difference when I turn it on again... Never did that before
  16. Well, somehow he suffers from the pads... They are cracking up too, nothing else
  17. It was me who had those V7s from eBay Now my brother has them and enjoys them. He also suffers from the pads
  18. I have about 150 albums, never sorted in any way (I wish they were!) )I believe more than 100 came in the last two years...
  19. Mmmh... My brother got one of those from eBay Germany for something about 50 Euro... I heard them and thought they were really crappy I don't know, it was just a plain Sony Receiver. I advised him to sell them and take the Sony MDR V7 I got for 15 Euro from eBay He did and got 100 for it. Please let me know wether the sound changes dramatically when it is connected to a good head amp! I had the AKG for two or three minutes on my head and thought: Oh my god, he spent 50 on this
  20. Maybe I will try this, if you are going to tell me how it works
  21. They finally have arrived The writing on the headphones says: Sony MDR V7 It looks like the picture evo posted. But "R" and "L" are not blue but golden! But they are actually sounding fine and have a much stronger bass than my Sennheisers. Well, it is a closed one For 14 Euro they definately rock But the pads are quite worn out Any workaround here? I don't like the leather or whatever it is...
  22. I have the HD 600s for about one year, I think... I'm using them daily for several hours. Maybe except the weekend I've got better thinks to do then... Btw, being drunk makes listening on headphones almost impossible and your stereo always sounds worth a million dollar This is a real cheap trick!
  23. Now 275 is pretty much I think... If I can get a Rega Ear for 180 brand new. If I would know how big the difference between listening with and without an amp is, I wouldn't think too much about this. If I knew that the sound gets better, I mean really much, maybe like buying new headphones, I'd gladly spend even more than 300. But here's the prob! Many people just describe a change in sound which are only nuances and only very subtle changes. Like how much in percent would you describe the getting-better-factor with using an amp for my Sennheisers? I know that it's impossible to do this but please convice me so I can finally spend much money on new headphone gear
  24. Hmm, sounds good but I have to wait another month before I can make a decision...
