  1. Hmm..its been a while, so.. Green stinkbug
  2. The most obvious are the jokers seling in sets of 5,(5 is the max number of a single chip you can get from TI's sampling program). There were a few clowns on head-fi doing that.
  3. But your profile already has the Omega 2?? I think the items in his profile are what he'd like to own, as opposed to actually owning them. I notice he placed a wtb rs-1 ad recently despite the rs-1s being in his profile from day one!
  4. Thats real bad luck man ........you sure you didn't do anything unusual to the camera? Well, perhaps you can make use of the time waiting for your camera to come back to play with its older mechanical siblings that go "clank!"
  5. Maybe you can try contacting this guy: WTB FE2 ad
  6. Warning: once you've handled the FM2N or FM3A, the plastic D70 body will feel cheapish by comparison! And then you'll want a dslr of the same build quality!
  7. If possible borrow one to play with first. You might not want to touch it anymore after your D70 comes back!
  8. Grasshopper and dragonfly from me as well
  9. There were so many junior college students walking around with D70s I thought I saw someone that looked like you.
  10. Blues, you were shooting pics at the MOE event at Suntec today right?
  11. I guessed as much, having seen the photos you've taken. Most photo labs can scan several rolls worth of negatives and copy them into a cd for you.
  12. Nice! I saw a whole bunch of bird guys with seriously long lenses firing away like crazy at some hummingbirds(or sunbirds, couldn't see clearly) during the weekend as well. Oh, and my pics above were taken using my favourite Fuji Superia 200.
  13. Cropped from the first pic: Also slightly cropped from another pic:
  14. My contribution: Settings for all the pics: f16, 1/125s, 35mm lens, 36mm extension, 1 flash, handheld, fuji superia 200.
  15. And here's some of my very first macro pics taken using the FM3A, 35mm lens, 36mm extension tube, external flash, handheld: Pics This setup gave me roughly life-size magnification(1:1) but very little working distance(3cm or less!)
  16. Here's a gallery of pictures my friend took when he was visiting relatives in india some time ago: Hyderabad, India
  17. I saw a very nice looking Spark integrated tube amp that drives headphones and speakers for about $900+ at the Adelphi. It looks much nicer than the Ha-1 and comes with a cage to protect the tubes as well. You should go take a walk around and try it. DIY amps can be very cheap or expensive depending on the design and parts used. The well built ones can sound better than their mass-produced commercial counterparts.
  18. Just to be clear, I wanted to kill myself not because I was sad for the little sod or any of the other characters, but rather the movie sucked so bad and it was over 2 hours long! arrgghh!!! I was nearly in tears myself, because I actually paid money to watch this show.
  19. A few favourites of mine: Regarding Henry Amazing Grace & Chuck The Truth About Cats & Dogs You've Got Mail Twins Oddballs Meatballs 4 oh, forgot to add: Both Resident Evil movies P.S. No offense Ben, but I wanted to kill myself when I watched A.I.
  20. None of the amps in the shops fit your budget unfortunately. The X-Cans are $600+, Creek ones are $500 and above, Spark/Cayin also above $500. I think mackie had a china headphone amp thats less than $300 but I cannot remember the name. You might want to check with him. P.S. if you are looking at buying DIY amps, buyer beware applies. Search for information on the builder's previous projects, posts etc to determine if the builder even knows what he/she is doing. E.g. if the builder is in the habit of asking even the most fundamental questions while his project is in progress, stay away! This can save you much headache.
  21. At the very least you need to know how to read simple schematics and soldering/de-soldering, and be able to do simple troubleshooting. The monkey see, monkey do approach to building amps is not advisable. You only need to search for and read the numerous failed projects in the diy forum to see for yourself. And unless you already have the required tools, you need to plow some money into things like soldering iron, multimeter, screwdrives, pliers etc etc etc.
  22. Wah, D70 not good enough for you already ah!

    Hello all

Greetings! Well, this place sometimes has about as much human traffic as Hong Lim Park aka Speakers' Corner but we all drop by once in a while.
  24. See pictures Here Built by firefox, this amp has been severely under-used for a long time because of my other amp(see pic in my avatar) and its time to find it a new home. Built according to the original ra-1 specs, but point to point soldered and utilises premium parts such as vishay dale resistors, Alps Black Beauty potentiometer (this has a metal housing unlike the plastic Alps Blue), silver wiring and rodium plated cardas rca jacks. Asking for $280, firm. PM me if you're keen. Lower offers will be ignored.
