found this pair of cans in SLS looks like an old model, price abt $50, anyone tried it before? looks a little like my ATH-D40fs RP-F350
-
so the 8N is for another model?
-
u think the price includes the custom amp? still don't hav much news yet, will ask him again tomorrow
-
could be there's somthing writen on the box about the cable used for the W1000, but its in japanese, here's what i can read that is not japanese " 3.0m6N-OFC + Hi-OFC " "99.99% (4N)" there is also this "8N-OFC" don't know what is this abt

just got rough price from dougles of Hung Bros on this phones...close to s$3K he said that Audio Technica Singapore puts the date for the release of this headphone @ 27th Nov also told me the leather is "Jaguar" i think he means its the same leather as those used in the jaguar cars can't be actually made of jaguar skin can it?

i hav switch back to the old drive opened up the drive to clean up the lens a little, seems to do the trick the noise is still there but not as obvious as with the Sony 52x drive. one more interesting thing i observed with my setup ...the noise doesn't show with the ATH-W1000, so i think it may be true some ppl say this headphone can hide inperfections in the source or recording i hear the noise most when using my FC7 (audio technica)

won't that cream get on your ears too when u use the cans?
-
A - alloy ? maybe? so titanium qualify as an "alloy"
-
its really nice, but a little off my original idea of having an everyday, cheap/easily replaced CDP its also too expensive for me... and most ppl
-
it looks beautiful blues u think the "L" stands for leather? don't know how many units will be in singapore, will check with Hung Bros tomorrow, the cable is 2 side entry, same as the W2002 i want it but don't think can afford it
-

any dead-line for confirmation? cause i work saturday & sundays, need to take leave -
yes they do there's talk abt external DAC , buffer using supplus EDO ram , mp3 surport , CD-text...going to be a big project i think my problem with the new drive could be its speed, 52x is too fast and that generates noise, the old drive was 8x, so i did not notice the noise
-
top loading CD transport very cool, must see
-
ok got a start point now...need a microprocessor chip "8051 CDRom Controller" now to figure out where to get it, and learn how to program it hey guys, it looks like there is also a lot of ppl out there looking at the same idea, to hav a cheap, easily replacable CD transport, that hooks up to their amps http://www.diyzone.net/article.php?sid=195 very interesting link above take a look , but its in chinese...i think some interesting pic below, looks cool don't u think no need for expensive CDP anymore DIY amps + CDP

thanks bro will look into it

the previous CDROM i was using seems to be better, i did not notice any such noise, its a Philips, manufactured in 1997. but that drive is too old, i need to leave it on for abt 1/2 hr before it will play any disc. the new drive is a sony 52x, anyone else hav this unit in their PC? maybe can test and see if it has the results with a headphone amp connected to the soundcard

same here , not isolation problem, cause i can't hear it with headphones off, not even when i put my ear next to the drive, so i can only think of one source, the new cable think thats what they mean by "zero loss" cause all the noise gets picked up too, and amplified by the amp

thanks jason i been to the site before, also download some of the documentation, but i think they deal more with the standards of IDE rather then the actual practical use if it will continue to search
-
is the 890 cheaper now? below $80??
-
do share any info u can find i also think its possible to control it directly from the pins on the IDE port, thought i seen it somewhere but can't remember, if can then only need to count the pins & connect them to a switch
