  2. voxel

    SOLD

    SOUND CARD SOLD
  3. voxel

    SOLD

    ALL SOLD. THANKS!
  4. The pc i plan to build will be placed 2 meters away, and mainly used for listening. So, with my headphone on, the hdd noise or cpu-fan noise will not bother me. I wil try to find a good PSU at SLS, thank u all ablaze, I'm not sure whether L22 is different from Lynx2-B only on the four analogue outputs, since there is a USD250 difference on price-_- I have read some comments about lynx2 on avs forum before, however, there is no direct comparison between its analogue output and any low-price hifi cdps, such as arcam, rotel or nad. How is ur RME? (ana-out or digi-dac?)
  5. wooo, so many suggestions:-) lekguan, what if i buy an Antec casing? I guess it will come with an Antec PSU... ablaze, that commercial water cooling block is really expensive Since the sound card may cost a lot, i cannot spent too much on other parts. BTW, anyone here has experience on those expensive sound cards, like CardDeluxe, RME Digi96/8 or LynxTwo? I have been thinking about this for a whole month. CardDeluxe has no WDM drivers; RME does better in Digital than analogue out; LynxTwo has similar price as Arcam CD72/82 player... ... ... It's really hard to determine. There is no direct comparison between the Lynx and a standalone cd player on the web, and most of my friends and members in a China headphone forum said I should buy a good CDP instead of any sound cards. What do you think? Sincerely thanks voxel
  6. Thanks huangyong:-) Water cooling is toooo complicated for me... I choose celeron to avoid the CPU fan noise, and the PC is more than 2 meters away, so in fact, the only noise is from the PSU fan. The real problem is the temperature Maybe i've to find a room with air-con...
  7. Anyone has experience building a HTPC in a room without air-con? I'm afraid that a Celeron 1G without fan, a 200G HDD in normal use or a PSU with silent fan will be damaged soon in such a condition... Regards, voxel
  8. for long time wearing and the quality of sound for instru/rock/mood, I think AKG K240S is quite suitable. also it's AKG'S low impedence monitor headphone, semi-open, very good for guitar practice. u may have a try...
  9. CORRECTION : voxel has been selling his K501 for around 140, and now he is listening to his K240DF on the computer Hi mambo, i suggest u give koss or grado a try. For the AKG headphones you listed, 501 is not good for DVD playback, and 240 DF/M cannot be used directly on mini-hifi or computer. 240S is quite different from DF/M. It is 55Ohms & 86dB, also quite hard to drive.
  10. Hi Voxel, I did not have a chance to listen to the naim during the meet, how would you define a milky sound? Hi lengcm, what i mean is that the sound of naim is quite soft and relax, but under well control. Very enjoyable
  11. Finally I know what HD600 is in the meeting To be frankly I just took a glance at the RS1, DT880 and CD3K (all much better than my 240DF ), and mainly focused on the 3 HD600s. On LC-KING my favorite can was HD580 with equinox, with enough but clean bass for symphony playback. However, , there were 3 amps controlling the bass of HD600 very well : naim, sugden and the RKV. Dont have time to experience the Gilmore and Corda yet . Comparatively naim gave a milky sound and sugden was more rigid. The RKV constructed a warm and full-bodied atmosphere ... ... ..., but anyway, it is not as tempting as the previous two, since a bit expensive BTW, I prefer to the one with equinox, but in fact, the stock cable is also ok for me.
  12. SOLD My labmate bought it. Sorry for Huang Yong
  13. I'll bring my favourite 240DF and the amp for it BTW, how about the software? What kind of CDs do we have now
  14. I think there will be too many 501s in the meeting
  15. me voxel my email is ys_liu@msn.com I only have a K501 and a 240DF, and don't know which one to take... Hope there are someone else who will bring one of them
  16. well, I don't have an expensive headphone pc : M-AUDIO Revo + DIY amp + 240DF bedroom : CD6000LE + K501 pillow : PHILIPS DCC130 + MX500 240 is my favorite........
  17. hi ablaze, how did u connect your revolution and the headphone amplifier? revo does not have RCA out.
  18. but ASIO is totally different things from KS some people think KS comes more natural on a normal pc, and ASIO for special apps
  19. Not yet. I have ordered one, still on the way All that I know about dither, bit depth and sampling rate etc are only from hydrogen (not by practical usage) BTW, have you done some search for revolution or dither on it?
  20. I just guess, since if a device does not support 24bit input, the signal must be dithered somewhere first, or there should be no sound out. You may check this link for more details: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?act...=ST&f=24&t=6716
