heady 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2009 http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f6/gamma-2-2...tml#post5949860 Gentlemen, fellow DIYers, Warm up your soldering irons! Seems AMB has sent the y2 boards for manufacturing. Any one interested? Please note that you will also need to order a y1 board at the same time. If got interest, then I will try to organise the group buy. Maybe mouz will help? Buying the boards is the easy part, getting the BOM will be more challenging, especially for us in SG. If can get all the parts from Farnell, then no sweat. But if need to buy from Digi-Key, then a bit problem if done individually. So a group buy will make sense. What say you all? Regards. gene83 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 hey dire, you need a y1 to work with the y2. thats a pre-requisite.
ckng 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 What's the cost going to be like? And any idea if it does 24/96 via USB? The AMB page doesn't mention this. Regards CK
mouz 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 (edited) Oh yes! count me in. Heady, feel free to contact me if you need help in anything I'll help with the face plates as usual too. BTW, tot you could break open the Y1 and use it with the Y2 board too right? Edited August 23, 2009 by mouz

BTW, tot you could break open the Y1 and use it with the Y2 board too right? Can reuse the y1 we built but sayang lah, after putting into nice case with panels. Aiyah, might as well buy another and built it from new. Building it is not difficult but buying the parts were a pain. I dunno why I so itchy. Now I am listening to a USB-Monica+Mojo feeding a SOHA-JISBO amping a DT150 and it's so blissful listening to Diana Krall. But we DIYers must built, right? heady 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 Guys, I will post the group buy as soon as the boards become available. Let's hope this will be soon. If any one of you guys have the time, please find out what's available from Farnell and what we need to get from Digikey. It will make things easier when we set up the group buy. I will be busy for the next 3 weeks and will not have much time to set this up. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
mouz 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Ok guys, here's what I can dig out. As you can see I got most of the stuff from mouser as they got most of the parts. Total cost for items below is about $121.42 without the stuff from AMB. Suggest maybe try to pair up in groups of 2 to get their free delivery here. madwolf 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2009 I am interested. It does not do 24bit/96K as the USB converter is PCM2707. I already have the voltage converters, USB chip, reset chips, OP-AMP But could join in if there is a complete BOM available.
Duck-in-the-Box 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2009 that's the price with y1?
mouz 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2009 Nope that's only the parts for y2 with no PCB. Throw in the y1 to make it complete would be about another 100 odd I think. Madwolf, doubt there will be a complete BOM available. Any help in this area would be very much appreciated though.
