Thinking 'bout the Stax Omega II

Thinking about buying the Omega II and the good driver unit to replace my dearly loved "RKV" combo.

 

Appreciate any comments on pricing and suitable drive unit for it.

Supposedly about US$2000 for the Omega II headphones & US$4000++ for the SRM-717 amplifier to go with it.

 

You can also get a builder to build you a KGSS for the Omega II's.

Go for it, headphonecrazy....Stax, esp Omega II, is a gem in reproducing sweet vocals.

He's been known to provide discounted prices cheaper than audiocubes. gotta try your hand at bargaining.

what's suggested is let him know that if he can provide a good price, you'll DEFINITELY buy. don't let him think you're just asking for fun. then do a search on japanese prices, then ask him to match the lowest you can find
