going tubes

This time,I plan to DIY a mini tube amplifier.

A problem now.Which layout of the following one is better?

 

1,the volume knob and headphone jack place on the top.

I'd say the silver knob matches well. I think the headphone jack should be better on the front for easy access.

Wooo... nice... I like the knob (& power switch) on the top but the headphone socket (& inputs) on the side to prevent cable stress & accidetly hitting the tubes.

 

Can I see what it looks like with the black vol knob on & how about configuring the tubes in a diagonal pattern if it doesn't affect the innards.

Don't worry, the photos are fine.

 

Out of curiosity, what circuit design will the mini tube amp be based on? Will it be requiring a seperate AC power supply?

it is a high version earmax archetype based headamp.using a a seperate AC power supply.

the amp is still in progress.when finished,I will take some photos again.
