Here are some sneak preview of my CLONE PPA...

I just do a Rightmark test on my CLONE PPA and here is the result:

Frequency response (from 40 Hz to 15 kHz), dB: +0.00, -0.00

Noise level, dB (A): -94.5

Dynamic range, dB (A): 92.1

THD, %: 0.0033

IMD, %: 0.043

Stereo crosstalk, dB: -94.9

I am using my HD600 for loading. Still lose to the original PPA a bit: http://www.tangentsoft.net/audio/ppa/bench...-1x-buffers.htm

If you want to have a test on this amplifier, do come down to PIPEE's home!!! headphone.gif

Scared me. I thought delete liao.

Sound wise cannot ask newbie. I let you all have a try!!! party.gif

The internal parts consists of: {PPA original config with curly bracket}

Power from 4 AA batteries total 4.8V or PC internal 5V or 9V battery {PPA uses 18 AAA batteries}

DC-DC converter (output +12V, -12V & 0V) {don't have this from the original design}

3 capacitor {more than 10}

No volume adjust at the CLONE

OPA134PA {AD8610}

3 buffer {12 buffer}

Add big heatsink {no heatsink}

These are the majour ones, something like an expensive Cmoy. kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

Is the reason you called it a clone PPA due to using the circuit layout?

What we all want to know now is can you build one as soon as the details become firm!

At least one month with 100% built to spec. No promise though as some parts are very hard to find in Singapore.

AD8610 is the hardest of all... no.gifno.gifno.gifno.gifno.gifno.gifno.gifno.gifno.gifno.gifno.gifno.gifno.gif

Sadly also, there is the small matter of cost... sleep.gif

For something better of course will be more expensive. Anyway my spec had already beaten the meta42 on results. If you like it I can build another CLONE at a cheaper price of course, casing not included wacko.gif

Jason,

If many wants the yr amp im sure they are willing to pay for your efforts. This also allows you to scour online for parts u need. Shipping cost wouldn't be much if ur talking about a dozen opamps... they'd probably send them in a tube in an envelope...

Lol... If more than 5 people want at a time can be very cheap. Let's see how this Saturday and talk the possibilities.

Is there any other senior DYIers around here? whistling.gif
