Blues 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2003 You have 1k more posts to go !! Jia you!!! btw, what power cord are you using now? is it necessary to change the power cable on the cdp too? hm hm...
Northern Oak 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2003 Nay, dun think I can stop you Spammer. For me, as of just now 12:45am : CDP - LAT AC-2 PC AMP - AFA ARES PC/Belden 19364 with Hubbell plugs and WattGate IEC Connector Power Bar/Strip - Armerican Style Sockets with Belden 19364 and Mk Plug I find that changing PC on the CDP changes the sound more significantly than on the AMP but one word of advice: When comparing power cords, you have to be very careful. When you hear certain sonic signatures, you CANNOT just attribute it as a merit/demerit of the PC. Why? IMHO, I find that sometimes PC help to clean up your power, thus enabling some of your equipment's hidden signatures to shine through, thus perhaps you may want to prepare yourself by reading up more reviews on your current equipments and use the knowledge to justify what you've heard. Have fun trying, Guy.
Blues 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2003 Alright.. I think for the cdp, I will save it. I am planning to upgrade the whole cdp together, maybe in 1-2 years time. So I shall save the power cord upg for cdp at the last stage So I am just concerned about the amp Thanks for the sharing!
Mackie 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Btw Guyferd, the power cord U're auditioning is of Bob Crump''s recipe. Initially, I was using the same Belden cords on my X-PSU and Monarchy DiP. Laid back, smooth but details and dynamics are lacking. Not satisfied, I just switched the MAS and Belden cords from cdp to Monarchy and walla.........a balance is found! Happy as a bird now. Northern Oak 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 My balance was found using this: Using Belden 19364 power bar -> LAT AC-2 -> CDP Same power bar -> AFA ARES -> AMP
