N@Z 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I've never had the pleasure. I believe in using them as the natural oils in our hands will place a coating over the tin & making them last longer. If I still kept my old 'protractor/compass' tin set it would still be rust free abeit with alot of dents! I wouldn't worry too much about using the mint tins. They not that expensive to replace. Rameish 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Maybe a better approach would be to: 1) Cut all the holes for the switches/jack etc 2) Clean the tin with alcohol mixed with distilled water 3) Immediately spray paint with clear gloss 4) Wait 6 hours for paint to dry and spray a second coat of clear gloss 5) Assemble the amp back A PITA but would save you the trouble of changing the case every now and then.
