Basically, although I love the artwork, I'll stay away from Mint Tins if I were you guys.

The above tins were never used. Just left in their original plastic slead wrapped for about 1.5 years. Then I opened them to take a look and to my horror....

I've never had the pleasure. I believe in using them as the natural oils in our hands will place a coating over the tin & making them last longer. If I still kept my old 'protractor/compass' tin set it would still be rust free abeit with alot of dents! laugh.gif

I wouldn't worry too much about using the mint tins. They not that expensive to replace. Plus it's fun which is the whole idea of the Mint Meta.

Maybe a better approach would be to:

1) Cut all the holes for the switches/jack etc

2) Clean the tin with alcohol mixed with distilled water

3) Immediately spray paint with clear gloss

4) Wait 6 hours for paint to dry and spray a second coat of clear gloss

5) Assemble the amp back

A PITA but would save you the trouble of changing the case every now and then.

I'll prolly use the rusty old thing till it crumbles but then again, I'd probably moved on to something else in less than a few months time LOL!

would putting a film of Singer oil help ? i remember that was the way to keep our barrel of M16 clean and shine. My barrel still shoots well and accurate after all these years. wink.gif

putting a film of singer oil would help i suppose. but then again it would be a hassle to clean off the oil from your fingers everytime you use it..
