Stereo_Electronics 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 Referring to the Straits time home page on internet trickster cheating more than 2 dozen of motorists in a local motoring forum, offering soughtafter car components such as racing gauges, sports exhaust systems, voltage stabilisers and other electronics that enhances a car's performance at almost half the price quoted by local shops. Goods were never sent. By the internet name of Jude Tan, challenge victims to " Catch me, if you can." Even moderators fail to stop him from flaming others in the forum after the scam. Talk about forum disasters....

absolut 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 If he/she was stupid enough to log in from home/work, the authorities would have no problem tracking the person down.
heady 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 If he/she was stupid enough to log in from home/work, the authorities would have no problem tracking the person down. It is not so easy. The culprit already said he is behind many proxy servers, so it will be hard to track him down, as the SG police don't have the authority to get ISPs in other countries to cooperate. If you know how, it can really be easy to be anonymous in the internet. Or pretend to be someone else. Or for an innocent to get framed. That's life... bad people always corrupting something that used to be good and innocent.
