sHaRkKaE 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 Actually, an amp adds flavour to the sound(depending on which amp) and it does not only do volume amplification. May I know what mp3 player you are using?
blurgal35 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 haha~ im a total noob when it comes to amps.. i have a Creative Zen V plus~~
loop_ 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 no you really don't need an amp - for the PX100 powering straight from your zen is good enough...
warsurferX 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 Yep.... Doubt an amp would help "improve" the px100 substantial enough to justify the cost of the amp.
blurgal35 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2007 alright thanks! i suppose amps are good for those big headphones then~~

X2. unless ur gonna spring for a lineout dock and a very decent amp (a RSA HORNET is realy nice ), i dont think u'l garner much improvments.
Guest ruzhyo Report post Posted April 6, 2007 Sorry to Hi jack this post. I am using a Grado 325i with my Ipod and I listen at max or near max volume. A low cost (less then $200) headphone amp will help?
tassardar_ 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2007 no doubt it will help. A govibe or smth will help.
radioactive28 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2007 Sorry to Hi jack this post. I am using a Grado 325i with my Ipod and I listen at max or near max volume. A low cost (less then $200) headphone amp will help? An amp will improve a pair high-end cans like the SR325i, but I don't think that's what you need. Not when you're listening at max volume even out of an iPod. If you're listening while in the train/bus, you should stop and get a pair of IEMs or closed cans instead. If you're not listening in a noisy environment, you should stop and get yourself to an audiologist to have your ears checked.
Absolute0 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2007 I'd agree with radioactive28. Max volume on an iPod should be more than enough for the low impedance Grado.
loop_ 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2007 are you using the sr325i on the go or at home? if at home you should consider investing more in a nice big cdplayer and an amplifier and you'll find the 325i sounding much better!
