ezzo 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2008 Hi, I am looking to recable my Denon D2000 with something Silvery, like Silver Plated Copper. Planning to get the cabless then a plug and DIY myself. Can someone recommend me a shop/cables to get? Thank you! Ezzo

heady 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2008 Try the two usual sources for cables, ie. LHS in Sim Lim Tower and Koba in People's Park Complex.

I bought a couple of cables from there before, some Silver plated Copper and they only cost $1.50/m. That I suppose it pretty cheap compared to those on Head-fi. But not too sure about its purity. That I suppose it pretty cheap compared to those on Head-fi. But not too sure about its purity. excellent shielding is required for this. ask LHS for their star-quad Canare L-4E6 microphone cable. super flexible and probably the best shielded snake they have. it has a braided copper shield plus the star-quad profile adds another layer of shielding, so it acts like double shield. brilliant stuff. http://www.canare.com/index.cfm?objectid=7...FAD046DCA18AAFA
ezzo 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2008 Thanks for the recommendation! Looks like a good candidate for re-cable Just a question about the cable. Since the cable has quad cores, after a Y joint, the cable are not shielded anymore, I reckon thats alright?
zer061zer0 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Its alright, I have a canare starquad for sale though terminated with Neutrik quarter inch on one end and a mini neutrik 3.5mm on the other end. Not sure if you will be interested.

Not sure if you will be interested. Not interested in it sorry. On second thought, are the cables in Canare Star Quad good enough? The original cables by Denon are OFC. They don't state the purity but from what others on Head-fi talk about, they are probably around 99.XX%.. Is it worthed recabling to the Canares?
