haha

you still overseas?

the bijou is surprisingly simple to build

its just that the voltages are high and theres a hell lot of wiring to do.

especially the star ground.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I really hate casing my builds. They may sound beautiful but they sure look like c**p. Only the Mini3 due to the group buy panels look anywhere decent. So I can understand your naked B22.

If and a very big if, I built my Bijou before you do, I will gladly have a meet with you so you can have a listen.

Regards

yea still overseas will prob only do any diy work mid-late august. But need to plan in advance...

totally agree casework is always the b*tch, but there is some satisfaction in having something cased up nicely.

hmm for the transformer. is it possible to use 2 seperate transformers? ie. 1 for the 260V and 1 for 6.3V?

yes you can :)

it might actually be better if you use a toroidal for the 260 and a plate traffo for the heater.

Hi gene83, can explain your comment? Interested to know why.

Thanks.

mainly the noise that it might get if it comes from the same source.

the 6.3v might interfere with the 260v and vice versa.

but with good grounding (as in the case with bijou, star grounding) the problem might or might not exist.

btw update on my side...

im getting my colleague's father's friend to custom me a toroidal and a heater!

whoohoo!! its finally coming together!

hows the amp coming along heady?

 no progress. Work has been killing me. :rclxub: Sad.

I have decided to finish my other sets of Mini3 first and sell them. My friends waited so long for me, they decide to buy other amps....

I am jumping in here since you are talking about tube amp... Have you guys ordered the PCB/Kits from Glassware? I am planning to buy something, maybe we can do a bulk purchase?

Also, I am planning on buying some chassis from vt4 in hkg, make sense to order together?

I ordered a Bijou kit from Glassware. Jeff is responsible dealer. The Bijou is in the queue of projects.... sigh.
