mychew 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 Seriously do you need the X-PSU? The X-PSU is only useful if you have various components such as the X-10D, X-24 DAC , etc etc.. You can always build your own PSU using a torroidal transfomer. Take a look at this website http://freespace.virgin.net/rock.grotto/x-psu.htm ben...i think at least not for the near future... mychew 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 OT: Sipher, I think he would allow audition if u r seriously interested in it..last time lengcm offers me to audition his x-cans v2...u could ask him about it... no experience with cmoy..... but i tried the original x-cans v1...it's much more brighter than tube-rolled x-cans v1... Mackie 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Blues, if U're referring to your session at my place, the tubes weren't rolled with Mullards then. This could explain the brightness.

Mackie 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Blues: That's why tube fans are abundant in this community....choose the right tubes for one's sonic preference while retaining the common signature of warm mids no matter what the replacements are.
Blues 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 (edited) but I have phobia with tubes.. whenever I see tube it reminds me of some 'psycho scientific experiment' ugh maybe I should buy tube amp which covers the tube.. Edited August 20, 2003 by Blues
