    Sudgen Mods

It's just the breaking down of the entire mod into multiple stages so that we could evaluate the improvements brought about by different component replacements in various sections of the amp. ie. Input section, output section, power side. It's not outlined anywhere. It's my own mod for the Sugden after evaluating the amp.
  2. Depends also lah... Must have enough people interested before we can determine the exact model & colour scheme lor.. I'll get pricing from my friend soon.
  3. The manufacturer did say it's not supposed to store fermented liquids. LOL.
  4. Just to check: How many people are interested to get Sigg Bottles at slightly lower ($3 - $4) than R.P? If we can fill in an order of 30 & above bottles, the local company distributing the bottle offers free printing of a logo for the bottles. Then we could have our own SGHp Sigg Bottles. Bottles catalog can be found here: http://www.thebigcountry.com/bin/catalog/g...T?id=0000000004 Those interested, please post a reply in this thread. I'll further finalise the other details with my friend; Variation on bottle models for the orders, pricing etc. An update: Preferably, you guys take the Traveller bottles. Otherwise, the logo printing may not look nice. The pricing is roughly as follows (Towards the lower side of the pricing): 0.3L Traveller Classic - S$17 - S$18 0.6L Traveller Classic - S$20 - S$22 1.0L Traveller Classic - S$22 - S$23 1.5L Traveller Classic - S$26 - S$27 0.6L Traveller Design - S$23 - S$24 1.0L Traveller Design - S$26 - S$27 0.5L Sportbottles uni - S$20 - S$21 0.75L Sportbottles uni - S$29 - S$30 0.6L Sportsworld - S$29 - S$30 0.75L Sportsworld - S$31 - S$32 0.75L Sport Licence - S$31 - S$32 0.75L Biking - S$31 - S$32 0.5L ISO-Sportbottles - S$56 - S$57 Logo Bottles: 0.5L Original - S$26 - S$27 0.6L Swiss Style - S$23 - S$24 0.75L Red/ Black Logo - S$31 - S$32 1.0L Swiss Cross - S$26 - S$27 People in the list so far: (default will be a BLUE 0.6L traveller classic with the white SGH logo unless otherwise specified) 1. Bulkie (2nd bottle) ( 1.0 (Metallic Darkgreen)) 28. mychew (5th bottle) (0.6 litre Swiss Style Logo Bottle) 29. mychew (6th bottle) (graphite) 30. Rameish (1.0l bottle - no logo) 31. Rameish (1.5L bottle - no logo) Update: Assuming we take 30 bottles, the company will pay for the printing of logos on one type & size of bottle only. ie. We can take various designs and models. But they'll pay for the printing for only one size and model like say, the 0.6L Traveller Classic. The rest will not have printing. Also, we can have logos on another model & sized bottle but we'll have to pay S$150 for the mould to be made. ie. We can have Traveller's Classic 0.3L printed with the logo in addition to whichever other bottle got it free but we have to bear the cost of the second mould. Those who want a SGHp bottle will all decide on a single size of, ideally, the Traveller Classic series. The logo's won't look good on other bottles with designs already. The logo can be any size (as long as it fits the bottle in mind) & not 5cm * 5cm as said before. It can only be one colour. Every additional colour warrants another mould costing S$150 (one mould for each colour; get it?). Not all bottles will have to print the logo. ie. You can buy other bottles for yourself, family & friends just to top-up to 30 bottles. Alternatively, we pay for a mould for the printing. Then we won't need to fill up an order of 30 bottles.
  5. LoL.. There is actually a way to spray the cans without having to forgo the markings on the cans. You'll need a type of paint on decal to cover the letterings. Place a string to allow you to lift up the decals after spraying and you're done.
  6. Yeah. But even just $50 would be enough for some reasonably good I/c's if you are willing & able to DiY them. RCA plugs and some Mogami/ Belden/ Canare/ Klotz cable will do fine. Better than paying for Monster crap..

Apparently, one of them might be getting better.. hehehe.

Impedance matching just allows optimal transfer of power from the amp to the drivers. However, it does not guarantee better sound. Lower impedance outputs allow the amp to better control the driver movement to the extend of it's limits. OTOH, high impedance might allow more efficient transfer of power to power hungry headphones. You'll need to find the sweet spot between the two. =)

2 pairs of WBT Midline RCA's would run you down US$80+ in cost alone. I doubt you'd make cables with them and sell for US$110 in such a case. =)
  10. Rip the locking plug out of the jack while it's in "locked" position. Don't laugh! It's been done before and I've seen the damage done to a Cardas RCA jack. The extremely tough Rhodium plating was scraped off in some places; Something that can't be done even by forcefully removing very tight RCA plugs. $180 to $200 includes workmanship but that's the ball park for one set with CMC RCA's & Alps Blue Velvet pot.
  11. Are you, Rameish & I thinking of the same thing for the frame of the DT880? Hehehe.. Supplement the little cousin with the flimsy headband..
  12. British luck.. Yeah. You'll really need it. I think it's easier getting good 32ohm speaker drivers and making retro ear-speakers ala' K1000's.

You should check with Rameish; I do believe he has a CD6000 SE for sale. =)

Actually, a well built Szekere's amplifier with good resistors like Holco's & caps like Cerafines can and will sound like tubes on steroids.
  15. It could be because of the different impedance output of jack 1 that the bass isn't as tight. There're other mods that can be done on the Creek including input cap rolling but IMO, it's not worth the labour anymore.

Go to Headwize and build a Szekere's amplifier with a gain stage. Use a decent opamp on the gain stage; ie. AD8620, OPA2228 etc. Get decent resistors like Vishay Dales or High temp. metal films and be sure to use the LM317(T) constant current source. Build also a good regulated power supply for the amp. You should be able to pump enough current into the K1000's depending on the transistor used.
  17. Well.. N@Z, you should have given me the FP6800 at the meet. Now you know what to have Mat bring over later this month, aye?
  18. Assuming the switches don't degrade the sound significantly (audibly), they would sound the same. Hehe.. Let me know if you guys can help me secure a pair of the HP-1's or HP-2's. Rameish wants HP-2's only. *grinz*
  19. No... Hung Bro's haven't handled an actual Orpheus; But they have done one order with the Baby Orpheus.
  20. LM386's aren't exactly opamps, so to speak. They're audio power amplifiers. You can't just drop in an opamp to replace them. The pin layout is different.
  21. Probably that they forgot. Unless you bought the other type of agent, the alkali.
  22. Yes, you can buy it. They'll ask you for your license though. LOL..
  23. Dont think Think Tank is commercialised. The style and directions are definitely different (Gorillaz and various projects) and thats about it. Some of the older albums are as, if not more radio friendly. I'd have meant commercialised in the sense that they've changed their music to suit the "in" genre. Which was tilted towards more alternative sounding music at the time. In fact, GorillaZ don't sound very much different from the old BLUR style but Think Tank is way off. Little wonder Coxon decided to leave. Yes, some of the older albums are "radio-friendly" but you also have to realise that many are radio-edits. eg. "Tender" was a 6 min+ song cut in half for radio stations.
  24. No. But the chemicals required are restricted items. ie. You can't get them without having a license.
  25. How many people have used/ are using the Klotz GY107. What are your opinions on the cable?
