Although transport + dac is a good idea but I'm not a believer that they sound better than a cdp, depending on which transport + dac and cdp you're comparing with. Anyway, for transport +dac you'll need to worry for another digital cable and powercord which are both very crucial, screw that up and you're getting urself in a lot of unnnecessary money issues.

Well these genre, to me, isn't music.. it's just beats.. Alot of these have more emphasis on drums, bass, and alot of electro syth. Don't get me wrong, I do listen to D&B and bass is important. but for music, it's all together a different story! It's music too, just that some people associate classical and jazz as music whereas techno and pop is junk. If you say a music is only emphasis on drums and bass and therefore not music, what about solo volin pieces? only strings emphasising on mids and highs? My 2 cents

I could only hear the difference in headphones, didn't find the difference substantial enough on my e4c or um2. For me, I learn thru my painful (wallet wise)hifi experience that its not about making the difference but getting the improvement. Most often I think newbies stress to hear the differences, which I agree there must be at some slight differences to a certain extend considering you added a new component or change a new interconnect but are these improvements? If you really have the money, change your source, garbage in, garbage out.....

Maybe they mod a philips 9500 into e2 and panasonic hfe50 into e3?

So you think paying much more for Shure or Ety is not being ripped off? Btw, can you comment on your review set? I'll like to know more about its quality before commenting on its price... I'm saying the conversion from 99USD to 219SGD is strange. It's understandable if an american company sells something more expensively in singapore due to shipping costs and what have you. But if a singaporean company sells its product in its own market at a higher price than an international market, wouldn't you find it strange? Not strange if they all comes from China, anyway, China made stuff are actually more expensive in China than Singapore so its nothing new.... maybe the markup is higher on the Singapore distributor.

I would rather spent the money buying the er4p or e4c or even um2, I mean custom earmold are for better isolation afterall but if the current tips serve me well then shouldn't be a problem. Unless the custom earmould + er6i sound = to er4p, then that's a different story.....

Darn AT, squeeze every penny from me with their toys.

From a hifi point of view, the music played during comparison makes a hugh difference, did you try the grado side by side with your senn? That's what i did the last time I bought the grado. That's why in hifi I always go for home trial, especially when speakers are involved. Listening at your home, in your own sofa, with your own fav music always makes a great deal of diff. Since you'll probably be going down to AA to audition the 990, I suggest you bring down your senn and fav cds.

Some questions..... If 3 earphones, creative ep-630, senn cx300, razerpro m100 have quite different specifications, like different freq response, SPL, power output ( razer only rated 20mw ) can they still sound the same? In regards to "coming from the same factory", is purely assumption or you're certain? Price is good if its $39.90 though.....
