  1. Love that shot blues. Personally I like the presence of the rocks as it adds a contrasting sence of 'roughness' to the smooth appearance of the sky & water. Cropping it off would have made it look like any other picture.
  2. I've updated that thread to reflect the current prices mentioned above.
  3. Latest price update for HD-414 earpads. - Hung Bros SLS, RRP SG$18.00 but offered to member Deinel: SG$8.00 - Sennheiser Asia quoted member afbug: SG$10.00 Get them while they're hot & still YELLOW!
  4. LOL! I know but I can't afford a D2X & a 997 model Porsche 911 Carerra 4S is a 'little' outside of my budget!
  5. Ayyy, thanks peeps! Have to wait till 'sungkai' before I can celebrate.

  10. Take a paparazzi shot of him & post here! Hehehe!
  11. Seasoned members, remember him? Whatever happened to him? Anyone know where he is now & what he's up to now? I miss his colourful banter & his eye for the ladies talk! He's probably the only person I know who can use a pair of closed headphones & make it sound like open ones! Hehehe!
  12. Click on your SGH ID or the Profile button at the bottom of your post on this page.
  13. Although this topic is treading the fine line, the majority of the Moderators agree with you on this Absolute0. We feel it's no different from the issues concerning pirated music CDs hence this thread will be closed. Any threads like these in the future will be deleted.
  14. Hi Todd, welcome to the forum & thanks for joining. I've changed your Member Group status to Audio Dealer.
  15. Ahh.. and here I was thinking, as the image was downloading... "not a particularly exciting shot" until I saw the whole thing, a nice & smile inducing perspective. The Sigma 50-500mm APO box looks deceptively small.

    Paypal

Although I haven't used it in a couple of months now, I have used Paypal fairly regularly since 2001. Paypal itself is safe, it just a matter of taking the usual precautions whenever you make purchases (like when using your creditcard) online. Always buy from reputable sellers/companies. Take care not to give out your password EVER unless you're physically logging on to the Paypal site directly. Paypal will never ask you for your password or ask you to key in you ID & password indirectly from your email or what not. The other issue to remember is the transaction charges which is the source of most debate. IMO the charges are reasonable when you need to make overseas transaction IMMEDIATELY. Not so good when you only need to make small funds transfer or when you need to cash out your Paypal balance. However if you need to use it for overseas purchases/transactions or as somewhere to put funds online like a holding account for future Paypal purchases then this is the most convenient. I actually like the fact that some websites (SGH) included, use Paypal as their means of receiving donations. Extremely useful for people from overseas.

How about putting in more descriptions about the amp for us less technically inclined sorts.
  18. Wanna do a cheap mod? http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=2415 Alternatively don't cut out the hole if you think the sound is too bright.

    Next meet..

That means only 7 people from the list voted as I voted but didn't put my name in the list, because my preferred date is in January 2006!
  20. Thanks for the info skyskraper. Tried searching on wikipedia which was useful. Hyperbolic paraboloid, now that's a mouthfull! I'll sleep better tonight, hehehe.
  21. Tell us a bit more about what you find wrong with the original earbuds. Fit not so good? Need more islation? Anything specific about the sound that you don't like or want to improve upon? What sort of music do you like to listen to?
  22. I was munching to Frito Lay's Stax chips this evening when it popped into my mind, "How do they make these things?" It says on the packaging it's made from 'Dehydrated potatoes' I tried making a search for the information & got info overload! I haven't found anything specifically on how they make it yet. Especially into those perfect little curved oval shapes. I'm really curious now, does anyone know so they can tell me & put me out of my misery!
  23. Please arrange collection so that this thread can be closed.
  24. The Album is enitled 'BINAURAL' but the whole album is not wholly recorded binaurally. The acoustic intros & sound affects maybe (thin air, of the girl, rival & soon forget) but other than that the whole album sounds like a normal recording. Good if you like your rock music raw. I love the drum work in this album.
  25. All things being equal, the 1st paragraph from neutralzz post sums it up - subjectivity in an individual's taste & perception or ablilty to differenciate (the magnitude of) the differences. This can be used to explain many other things like taste in music, photography, cars etc. Hence the term YMMV (Your mileage may vary). This is what makes humans such complex & interesting beings. The argument is nothing new, at the end of the day, how much a person is willing to spend is entirely up to them as long as they can justify/afford it. The analogy used to differenciate a $500 amp with a $5,000 amp doesn't take into account of other factors like: design, quality of costruction, quality of materials used, tactile feel (touch & operation) to name a few. These are factors which add to the 'satisfaction' or pride of ownership for some people.
