  1. hi there, i am orgainising to purchase some mountain bike parts off a person in singapore. he lives at "hillview ave, near bukit panjang plaza" and the products will come to the cost of $660SGD. i will repay the person through paypal as the seller does not have paypal. once the stuff is purchased from the guy, i need the products to be posted out to australia ASAP, i will cover postage costs as well. the product is a MTB fork and it is around 4kg heavy. i am not sure of the postage cost, but using the postage calculator of SingPost, it is around $40-$60. i guess the person could go to the postage office and can SMS me the varieties of postage time and cost. i am willing to pay a commission to the person. i will give the details of the seller to you, and my details too.
  2. someone must have surely meet him in real life? i reckon someone in NY should go to his house and give him a good bounding!
  3. but that tuning with amp and source would be big dollars right? you would need a very capable speaker/headphone in the first place to actually hear the differences in the source/amp. i'm a poor student so keep swapping headphones, but keep the same source and amp, if i have one haha
  4. hehe yeah i guess we have different tastes. i was hoping for an overall can, just like my open one (hd600) but they both lack in character. you are using the 250s for tv and dvd right? not really music? yeah the 7506 has no soundstage so rock music doesn't sound good, also the midrange on the dt770 is recessed so rock is bad, you want to hear zack (from rage) shouting and angry!!!! you want to feel rage and rebel!!!! haha i think the mg head does muddle bass, it even does it with the 7506, but i didn't compare OTL to trans, i think i just used OTL.
  5. i had a pair of these too.. i found it pretty ordinary, like it sounds good, but it's just polite. sort of like the hd600 i guess. nothing really stands out.. i dunno really how to explain it. the sony 7506 has vocals highly positioned and bass the dt770 has recessed vocals the ultrasone 650 is good but i think the seperation of the music is a bit much.. rage will never sound good with the dt250 compared to the grado. don't insult rage by putting it next to POD, that is TRL tenny rock just like linkin park. put some tool in it too. i don't think hard rock is pink floyd - dsotm, not even sure if it rock music too... also btw i did not hear alot of difference, if any with a corda ha-1 and no amp with the beyer. so i don't think an amp does much difference with the 250-250.
  6. sold some cds. i am open to trades with chinese cds. they better be decent though haha
  7. one of the crystal method cd is totally stratched, i think i will get that off the list. tweekend is screwed. i think all the korn and linkin park ones are sold, same with roni size. i would like more than $5 for each cd, as these are quality music. i'll let you guys know about the cds being sold

MD recorder i've got a sharp 832 md recorder, it was bought from bluetin singapore, over the net. i bought it in late 2001. it has no MDLP or USB, but it displays kanji characters :leet: it's in perfect condition. it's essentially the 831 model but can display the kanji characters so 832. here is a product description: http://www.minidisct.com/products/sharp_mt831.html package includes: 10 74 minute MDs and 3 80 minute MDs, all accesories listed above in the product description. i'll throw in a mini-mini optical cable, and a carry bag. here are some reviews: http://www.t-station.net/reviews/sharp_mt831.html pics: looking for $300AUD but just bid. 3. Headphones got a sennhesier hd600 with the mg head which i think was made for the sennheisers. it has late 50s and early 60s Sylvania tubes in it, though the main tube has hum (i think this is a power issue, as when i plugged it in another power socket, hum was drastically reduced). got other tubes for it too. looking to sell both for $750AUD. pics: fishball79 and i will by making grado ra-1 headphone amplifer clones very soon, and we bought some extra parts so we can sell some amps. thanks, peter
  9. oh hey edwin, if the wait until beginning of november is too much, i will post it to you by ems. i'll send you a pm.

  12. maybe 325s, but called it off, just getting some tubes off him. i guess you chat with him about speakers? he said he is selling the stuff because he likes to listen to his crossoverless speakers..
  13. i'm thinking of selling these, interested people please email s4010767@student.uq.edu.au thanks, peter
  14. hey chris, do you know that guy? im thinking of buying his grado and some tubes for the mg head..
  15. i would be interested too
  16. EL84 output (power) tubes and 5751 input tube. I'm not sure of the compatiable tubes or their correct type. N@Z probably has a better idea. thanks, peter Sorry didn't want to crap on the thread so I put my comments into your post. The Output tubes (shorter) are as per indicated above & the power tubes (taller) are the EL84 or 6BQ5. I think 7189A, CV2975, 6CH6, EL821 can also be used.
  17. what do phase switches do?

  19. the only good pics are the blue's first one and northern oaks.. i'll see if i can get any pics
  20. how much did the ra-1 end up costing? are the parts avaliable locally? i wanna build one too, but i'll let fishball do the soldering
  21. i am keen for any tubes that are compatable with the mg head otl (first edition)
  22. gotta agree about rock, beyers are too mellow, senn is better but no where as fast as grado
  23. if only the PPA wasn't on the horizon, i would snap it up sorry
  24. hey Rameish, thank you for the great post. do you recommend the mg head for grado headphones? or is the ra-1 vastly superior considering it's low price DIY i think i may scrap a closed can for another open one!
