  6. Ok I'll jump on this even though I'm not in Singapore. Mine is Left 42716 Right 42783 bought from the States through ablaze's contact 6 months ago. Evil zens ety's definitely the oldest me thinks, from the senior 4 digit serial number as compared to our 5 digits.
  7. I'm having problems replying to PM's, when I hit the reply link the reply page won't load up even after attempts of reloading /refreshing the page. Also intermmitently pages will load half way and stop without completing the page, reloading/refreshing seem to fix this. Just though it's worth a mention.
  8. Hi, We are talking about the 'Mystery Cable #1' prototype cable made by Fishball79, right? If we are then I would recommend you to sample it, the cable has been in S'pore (since the last meet) for review purposes but everybody has been to busy to get around it. I have to warn you it is a prototype cable and not a production run. Any short coming of the 'Mystery Cable #1' will be rectified when it is good and ready. As N@z put it, good VFM. Oh when you do pick it up and listened through it please do not hesitate to post your impression on it. Your input will really help the design team......Thank you! Mat Ps. added The Mystery Cable #01 Thread.
  9. Q00, here is one for you! A man decides to have a face lift for his birthday. He spends £5,000 and feels really good about the results. On his way home he stops at a news stand and buys a paper. Before leaving he says to the sales clerk, "I hope you don't mind me asking, but how old do you think I am?" "About 35," was the reply. "I'm actually 47," the man says, feeling really happy. After that, he goes into McDonald's for lunch, and asks the order taker the same question, to which the reply is, "Oh you look about 29". "I am actually 47". This makes him feel really good. While standing at the bus stop he asks an old woman the same question. She replies, "I am 85 years old and my eyesight is going. But when I was young there was a sure way of telling a man's age. If I put my hand down your pants and play with your balls for ten minutes, I will be able to tell your exact age." As there was no one around, the man thought what the hell and let her slip her hand down his pants. Ten minutes later the old lady says, "OK, it's done. You are 47." Stunned the man says, "That was brilliant! How did you do that?" The old lady replies, "I was behind you in McDonalds." Edit - Typo
  10. A bunch of CD's arrived today, one of them is from iconic Thievery Corporation - Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi
  11. Rameish, I am actually looking for clarification on why Sennheiser does no address the cable issue. I really can't figure out why they can't just hardwire the headphone instead. If there is anything to go by, the HD600 is a very good pair of headphones indeed from my experience. Down right individualistic in its presentation, if I may say so especially with a cable upgrade. I won't get into the description of any sonic distinction but I would rate it very highly indeed. I just cant justify Sennheiser themselves not issuing a cable of all cables for the HD650. From the pictures from HeadFi it does look like the connectors of the HD650 are indeed beefier (as are the stock cables) and to me this is the most obvious improvement visually, if you can call that. I think that was rectified due to the fact that the connectors on the HD600 are prone to breakage. But yeah, we are still relatively in the dark as to the sound quality improvements over the HD600. As I would say in Hi/HeadFi, hearing is believing. I am not sold yet on that. To think that I need to cough up an extra US$150 minimum for a cable upgrade is a little to naff for my conscience. I remember my first experience of the HD600 (with an aftermarket cable), pluged it in and I was immediately sold. To me that is a sound I won't easily forget (simply overwhelming), and at that very instance I wanted one. That is why I'm a little suspect with regards to the HD650. If you can shed a light on this I would greatly appreciate it. However I do like the idea of DIY cable tinkering at a later stage not unlike your own Mod Mods World endeavours but thats another chapter. As for the different versions I thought you would know, as I remembered the HD600 was manufactured in at least two countries hence my assumption it comes in different guises (like minute detailing for example, maybe). I might be wrong here though, if I am then please excuse me. Thank you!
  12. I also lost 2 post from last night, not that it matters much!
  13. Dear Rameish, I think this was stated on Jan Meier's post on HeadFi (on his very first post)- Are you anticipatng the asian version ( if it so existed) will be of different specification? It is also rumored that the ZuCable for the HD600/HD580 are applicable for the HD650, and IIRC Jude himself immediately swapped the stock cable for a Cardas as soon as he started his listening the HD650. I personally feel that Sennheiser keeping this as an open option to upgrade but to me quite unneccessary IMHO.
  14. adhoc lead me here when I was looking for a deal on DT880's. We corresponded through HeadFi so I voted accordingly
  15. Hey Blues Guy, well in those days punk is like an indegenous sect, local to a mass of land now called Europe. To be honest I can't keep up with all the altercations of genre that is the music industry now. Blink182 and maybe Sugar Ray will be an evolution of the Punk rock bands of yesteryears, maybe/maybe not, I don't know. Just my thoughts! Cheers!! Mods, the double post ain't my fault, ok? Thanks
  16. Headphonecrazy, my record player is awaiting parts now I would think my LP's revival is 25% the way to reality. Good luck in yours too Oh as for CD's I do not have alot, but i couldn't be bothered to go and count them . I have bought like 15 albums over the last 2 months though
  17. How's it going Dude! Didn't get the cake hint sorry. Enjoy the day!
  18. Hi icyspawn, What N@z is trying to say is how do you wish us to help you? What you need to do is give more details of your intended partnering equipments other than the obvious HD497's. Making in be known what source you are curently using will help a great deal in narrowing down your options too. You might want to use the amp for your tuner CD/record player and so on. Oh! Stating you budget also helps. FYI, PCDP stands for Portable Compact Disc Player and CDP is for Compact disc Player.
  19. Ah 'Fleur De Lys' yes agree, although it is not called Oreos cheesecake but 'Messy Mud' cheesecake or something in that nature. Personally my all time favourite is the 'Mango' cheesecake, one of my favourite fruits in a cake. What a fruitcake eh
  20. Opening ones ear is one thing but to open ones brain is another thing especially when it has been rotting. It gets yucky like that..... I suppose?!?
  21. av98m, that's cool then. I have another theory, this might sound ever so silly, can it be you need to burn in the CD? Mine is second hand so should be very well burnt in Interlude spin Tori Amos - Silent all these years CD single. Charity release support for the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) You have to dig the live version of this song Edit = typo & grammar
  22. Tori Amos - Scarlet's Walk. I had just been given this CD by a good friend, not one of her better work but her singing style is her trademark (so to speak) and she is one of my many favourite female vocalists. Although, I have yet to acquire her much hyped "Strange Little Girls" LP where she covers song by Velvet Underground, Tom Waits, Eminem and also among others Slayer. Oh well! this album scores good for me for the time being
