  1. first thing u got to do. take out the foam pads that sites between the ear pads and the drivers!! improves treble and makes the bass less boomier! do it now! if you dont like it, you can always replace it
  2. take a nice big dictionary, clamp the headphones in it when not in use or, you canbe ABIT bolder, and strech it bit by bit, a little too hard and you hear the inevitable CRACK, then, too bad already. the dictionary method works fine though
  3. the grip of death, they made it so, so that even when you headbang, the cans are NOT going to slip off your head!! and the ioslation factor is also upped by this literally airtight seal it DOES hurt youe ears abit though, worse still, if you are wearing specs like me....... your ears WILL feel bruised!
  4. no lah, just an example, to say that your statement is not that true lah. for some cases, yes, more expensive is better, but in some cases, not so. "lesser you invest, lesser you gain" might be misleading to some people.
  5. the ES-7 is around $200. i dont think thats within your budget?
  6. this is VERY subjective, i wouldnt say an SR80 is inferior to a bose QC right. galapogos, you tried the DTX50? the mylarones? or have you already bought your pair??! if you didnt, go down to jaben and have fun with the above mentioned pairs. the Mylar ones in particular blew in-ears twice its price away IMO.good bass with good sound and details, all for a steal, this will not damge your wallet THAT badly
  7. open cans for out-door use isn't TOO practical. you have noise leaking in and blaring out got the K81's, for rock and metal, their bass is astounding, and at that price range, i believe almost totally unbeatable!i know, cause i had totally the same criteria as you, and did tons of research for those cans. do try out the beyer 131 galatica as well, they are as good as the K81's and do not have the killer grip and if you are considering IEMs, do go try out the DTX50
  8. haha congrats on the mini singapura 1. audio stuff 2.less study 3. more sleep 4. more food 5(and most importantly). WORLD PEACE! i know it sounds cliched, but what the hell, its good isn't it?!!?
  9. i used the same sized tips, its not the seal, trust me, its REALLy the earphones as well. and you are right, the seal does play a big part, but it REALLY has a bass bost you should go try it out:D
  10. thats the feature on the phone right? yeah i did use megabass!! or maybe it sounded weak, cause i am a HUGE basshead so it sould be too thin and weak IMO BECAUSE i am a basshead to be REALLY honest, i wasnt disappointed caue i wasnt expecting much, for simple acoustic songs(think clapton's tears in heaven) and vocals its passable, but for heavier stuff(think iron maiden), totally unacceptable to me
  11. maybe you should start another thread on this? but for starters, shures have a very distinctive sound that not many people like, the details are sort of clobbered together. advise you to try it out first about the CX300, that i cannot say, as i have not heard them before but IMO the Mylars destroy the E2C, especially in the bass department
  12. i agree on that point too, my first gen sony player(think E series) owns the HDD ipods and the mini and the nano, it DOES lose out to the shuffle though. however, the ipod has a linout dock, in which paired with an amp, with apple lossless, can make the music go way better than mine ever can but you have to say, ipods are DAMN sexy loking! asthetics wise, they ARE brilliant! however, its just my opinion. walkman phones wise, just didnt really like it, it couldnt power my K81's well enough, bass was thin and weak. the model i tried was my friend's W950i
  13. if you wanna hear the difference, maybe its becasue your headphone cant progress anymore, strap on a pair of MS1's and try again, i am QUITE sure the difference will be huge. also check the bitrate of the music you are listening too. just borrow the MS1 from jaben for awhile, dont think he will refuse the Xtra made a huge difference to my K81's even though i was i was using a headphonejack, so i think the difference with using a line out should also be quite substantial
  14. any pics of it? and to be honest, i have NEVER heard of them beofre, whats the price like?
  15. yes we met, i was the guy with the white levi's tee. i took the Mylar ones from you when you were returning it to uncle wilson you were also carrying the T10 as well if i am not mistaken. haha we were like the 2 youngest people in the shop?
  16. MalHead,no support for the grados and alessandros!? and the support of the community should have nothing to do with your choice, you should go down to the shops and test the different headphones. they were saying how the MS1 is superior to the SR60/80's and i thought so too, until i went to have a listen and found out that i preferred the sound signature of the SR series than to the alessandros. you should go down and have a listen. forums are here to point you in the right direction, the experimental step and destination is what you should decide. deciding what sounds good JUST by reviews and such, will make you risk ALOT of hardearned money! just go down and test, dont worry, you WONT regret the bus fare you spent
  17. just heard the Mylar one today. good pair of in ears, easily comparable to the TC20, its like a TC20 with a bass boost, that is rather significant, without compromising any of the features that made the TC20 famous as THE budget in ears! also, its made in korea, so QC wise, it should have a tremedous improvement! definitely worth bang for your buck!
  18. for that buget, you MIGHT wanna try out the crossroads2 or the PA2V2, plus the little dot micro as what was stated above. however dont expect a "WHOA, SO NICE" kinda thing, entry level amps cant do that
  19. LDM+ SOLD! AKG still up!!! lelong lelong....... price shall be around the $80 mark
  20. is the 5EB the one which is HUGE and has a VERY wonky shape? cause i tried that, the bass is strong.....too strong........ and the mids and highs suffer TOO much in my opinion. the DTX 50 on the other hand, makes a fine balence, even though the bass be abit too strong for some
  21. erm no.... and can you please change your avatar? i am sure the mods wil tell you to sooner or later, so just be discreet. wow, four times the price of the SR80, i would be expecting the quality of a DT 770......... or at least a SR125. i have GOT to go down to PS one of these days to the bose showroom to test, are the staff friendly? cause alot of shop owners dont think a young person looking all of his 16 years have any spending power at all
  22. audio technica FC-7 koss 75 and SR60's? definitely no fight, even though i heard a re-cabled one and a stock one, the SR60 wins hands down although the price difference IS quite large, and the SR60 is like 2 and a half times your budget. so i dont think you would want to go for the SR60's even though they produce one hell of a sound, simply becasue its WAYYYY over your budget
  23. for the bass of the suferfi 5eb, how well does it compare with the DTX 50? yes and IEM's definitely lack the bass
  24. $160...... they produce sound equivalent to the SR80's? cause thats quite a tall order, i myself LOVED the SR80's
  25. if you LOVE bass, try the fc-7, best bass for thier price i would say.
