  1. Dont know about washing but my bowls are all well oiled by my ears
  2. Cant remember le...it was some time back but shouldnt be too expensive... yeah...flats and the HD414 are more comfy than bowls
  3. There's one more mod that you might wanna try...RS-1 bowls with the sides scotch-taped. Open up the details as well as enhance the bass.
  4. Hi First time newbie in this thread Just to share a snapshot
  5. Just checked with MBD...stock expected to arrive end of this month. But the price can buy RS-1 plus GS-1000
  6. Did an impression about a year back. And lately I've been toying with the idea of the Yammy so that my W5000 would at least get more air time. Would love to get the ZD but I couldnt afford the footprint. If I do get the Yammy, my MAD HD2 will be up in the WTS Mini Meet Impression

Hi Long time no see ***MOD**** Please do not post comments etc in Classifieds. Please read the rules.
  8. Congrats on your W5000. Out of the few amps that I have listened it with, I like it most with the Yammy. The GCHA would be very nice as well
  9. You're not using paypal? To me, their request for image is reasonable. In fact this was how online transactions were done before ebay and paypal. Come to think of it, when I first started using paypal, my e-mail address which was already very unique was similar to one of their member's user name. I was asked to send image of IC as well. The deal didnt succeed and the seller refunded my money.
  10. I own both the SF5 pro and the ESW9. Between the 2, I use the SF5 pro if I need to take my music outdoor. The ESW9 is purely for indoor use. You have mentioned that you've already auditioned the ESW9. Am not too sure what your options are. Are you planning to sell your SF5 pro to get the ESW9? If that's the case then I wouldnt recommend it. If you're considering a set of ESW9 in addition to your SF5 pro, then I would say go for it. BTW, the ESW9 may not be a top-notch set of phones, but I would have no problem choosing it for a listening session any time.
  11. Do take care of your ears and hearing. The solution to ambient noise is isolation, not louder volume. In any case, IMHO open headphones dont really sound as nice as they could in a noisy environment.
  12. You did not mention whether it's a portable or desktop amp that you are referring to. If it's a portable, the Crossroads that heady recommended is a good candidate. Adds weight to the music and is inexpensive.
  13. Must have been whale of a time They said upsampling produces a lean and, in the case of the 840C, plasticky sound. I suspect that your Yammy would have given it a nice balance. Great photos. Cant wait for all your impressions
  14. Thanks yotiao. I think I should have a good picture of what you're saying
  15. Very nice impressions. How did I miss it? One question: some say that good tube amps will begin to sound like SS amps in the bass department. From your impressions, t does seem like the ZD's bass is deep and tight. How would you compare its bass to that of an equivalent SS amp? It's good to hear that the ZD plays well with the W5000, a phone that I love very much but is also very picky about its amping partner.
  16. My experience with the HD650 is that this is a set of phones that can scale really well with the equipment used upstream. It's definitely listenable out of an ipod + portable amp but will never achieve the potential that you mentioned. Having said that, it's most important that you're happy with it. And it seems like you quite like the Hornet driving it. Just my 2 cents.
  17. Thanks tbln for the insight. For me, I have found the 650 sounded better with a characteristic SS upstream.
  18. For me, the 701 is definitely not a on-the-go phone. It's not the looks, sound leak or amplification. It's the weather.
  19. Great review and pics! Small request if not too much to ask: I am familiar with the 840C and the HD650. How do these sound with the Apache? Just trying to form a mental picture. Thanks. Agree with you, a real slippery slope...
  20. Is there no further loss when compressing the 128 file to 320, even though we might not be able to hear it?
