  1. Managed to get 2 SACDs by famous cellist Starker in the recent hifi show in Meridian.
  2. Found another recording by Carlos Kleiber. Beethoven Synphony No. 6 with Bavarian State Orchestra. If u are particular about hifi effect then ignore this one. This CD is made from a cassette tape originally recorded for his son. Strangely this cassette tape survived much better than the original master tape. Sound of this CD is kind of dry and the sound stage fairly compressed. But if u are Kleiber supporter, this recording is the only one and in fact this particular live performance on 7 Nov 1983 was also the only time Kleiver ever conducted a Beethoven 6th.
  3. A very nice DVD on Heifetz. The picture quality below average. I watch the program many years back on TV. It was available in Video tape and now finally DVD. Black and white movie and sound in mono mode. But nevertheless a very good footage of Scottish Fantacy. http://www.fuwen.net/index.php?option=com_...d=65&Itemid=135
  4. I had written something on Beethoven Violin Concerto and about conductor Carlos Kleiber at my not so ready website www.fuwen.net. You guys can have a look if u are keen.
  5. I do play violin quite a while ago but now very seldom already. I have a recording of Shaham on Beethoven Violin Concerto but was not very impress with it, but I have not listened many times.
  6. Happy birthday to you too Yotiao!

This is a professional closed headphones so most likely only can find in Hungs' Brother. I am using one and is very happy with it. U want can arrange to try out at my place. However this headphone rest on the ears and not covering the ears so make sure u are comfortable with this. Good as it maybe, I would not say it is very value for money. I use it for portable listening when I am on the MRT.
  11. D 88 sold to a nice young man.
  12. That day went down to Sing Music only to realise that they have closed down the retail shop. Contact left behind with the info counter indicated that they are now only doing distribution. So sad, there goes another good retail shop for classical music ..............
  13. Not consistent but normally skips during the same track. Thanks Rameish and Mackie, I think your suggestions are do-able for me and will try out first. Hope that since some discs can playback well without problem most likely not due to faulty CD pich up lens.
  14. Hi! My few years old Musical Fidility A3 CD player tends to skip tracks for some of the CDs (apparently those with some dusts ones) lately. Any simple things that I should do other than sending to the agent for servicing? Thanks!
  15. Beethoven 5 and 7. CD, made in Japan Gold CD, SACD
  16. Bumped into this DVD of Beethoven 4 and 7 symphonies by Carlos Kleiber. His recordings have been wonderful (though may not be audiophile) and now can admire his conducting style. Will also post the photo of the rest if the Kleiber Recordings I had. http://www.fuwen.net/index.php?option=com_...id=16&Itemid=48
  17. However, if using anything higher than 300mA please check that your rechargable batteries are able to take the current. 300mA should be OK for most of the rechargeables just that will take longer time to full charge for those newer high capacity ones. Since one charge can last quite a while I think it would be better to take out the batteries (troublesome as the cover is screws tightened) and charge by OEM charger.
  18. Hi! Happy Birthday and a happy New Year!
