  1. No worries on the amp. I Based on the photo (lol!): This is an old setup btw. Headphone rig: Lenovo y410 --> Dac magic --> Irukandji --> Little Country -> HD650 or Lenovo y410 --> Dac magic -XLR to TRS Connector-> tapco Mix 50 (Mixer) --> CD900st Speaker rig: Lenovo y410 --> Dac magic -XLR to TRS Connector-> tapco Mix 50 (Mixer) -TRS to XLR-> nEar05 (Monitor speakers)
  2. I 2nd Stan's suggestion. Focus on the rig you'll be able to use MOST of the time. I also have a pair of monitors at home but I can only play them on weekends when I feel I won't bother my housemates or the next door neighbor as my listening extends to 12 midnight while infront of a PC. That is why headphones seems best for me now. I also did a lot of tweaking w/ my portable since 40% of my listening time is at home and 60% is while travelling and in the office. Good thing my portable is very good for my taste already. Now focusing on my 40%. @boon Are you still interested in the Little Country. I can let you audition if you want to.
  3. Waaah! Tweaks eating away my allowance. But it did a great Job showing the Potential of my yamamoto.
  4. Linkin park - Road to Revolution: Live at Milton Keynes
  5. My advise on the RCA covers. Share it w/ friends. Any one w/ a home rig will surely need them unless the room is hermetically sealed or has humidity control. lol! Think of it as a Mini MO! From my experience they sometimes get lost when I get too focused on my Rig when I try out new cables or do reconfiguration. So it is a good idea to have some as spare. Btw, does any one know where to get covers for XLR jacks/sockets locally been tracking them. But they aren't cheap from international sites. =( Some pics of the covers on the LC3 I'm selling. =)
  6. The RCA cover are iEgo covers I bought from someone posting on the web. It's a fast transaction. i get the covers in 2-3 days via snail Mail! http://forums.vr-zone.com/singapore-market...ctors-sale.html Can you tell me if I can buy 3.5 mm and S-video Jack covers my Laptop is accumulating some inside even though I clean my stuff at least once a week. Well, the SG Humidity doesn't really help. There is McDonalds Promotion for a lunch 12-2pm (or is it 3 pm) for S$4.50. Just do the math. And yes its for both,The Cleaner is 4.5 lunches and the conditioner 6.5 lunches. I believe that's where the conditioner comes in. If the conditioner does what it says it can accomplish application of the contact cleaner should be between a 4-6 month period and anything between is just wiping off grime. I just bought it last week. And the contacts seems to fare very well as I wipe them off with a microfiber cloth usually thrice a week or whenever possible. I hope it does work though. loL! For the price it's not really expensive unless you use up the cleaner in one clean up job. The last time I cleaned, My yamamoto, My mixer, My 3 Headphones, plugs on My IEMS and my LOD and ICs, and yes my power cables. My cleaner didn't loose a lot of weight but did feel that there is more air My GUESStimate should be 10-20% of the small aerosol can.
  7. I have the same brand of cleaner too. But bought the Electrical Contact Cleaner from SLT. loL!
  8. I have been cleaning my rig and items for some time since a friend of mine explained its importance too me and actually showed me the difrence on the spot. Cleaning actually removes build up of dirt or oxides that degrades any electrical connection and will degrade your rigs out put. Not to mention having aesthetically squeeky clean connections. I have been using the off the shelf Electrical Contact cleaners. It works for me. Then I tried the Caig product both the cleaner and conditioner. The difference is really something. Not only the sound opens up. Clarity gets better too. On my Amp the volume increased substantially. This might sound as a advertisement but I go for what Eric's doin. Sharing some inexpensive tweaks and basic info on cleaning not only the exterior of your rig but the not so noticeable connections. From my initial cleaning of ALL my items I think I used up only 10% of the can and soo little of the conditioner. If the duration actually follows the 6 month effectivity stated the cleaner and the conditioner will definitely last a long time. BTW the cleaner and conditioner had a great effect for me on my Yamamoto's tubes. I nearly forgot. the price is equivalent to 11 McDonald Lunch meals. We got it on a shop at Adelphi.
  9. The LDMK4se not a budget amp. lol! @boon For SS I recommend also the Novo. But if you want warm sound and some heating involved. Just send me a PM. I think I posted some pics on my post. =)
  10. Unfortyunately I'm one of those. I'm still using the stock chord from my Xindak Power distributor. I did some research and poking around. High Quality EU Plugs the one standard plugs in SG are much more expensive than the Audio Grade IEC plugs (US). Until I find one within my budget i will be staying on stock for a while. I also rent a flat and share it w/ relatives. So changing the sockets is not an option ATM. I must say the one Kachui got for the price he paid is a very good deal.
  11. Haha! Not to shoot down anything. Tweaks, amps, headphones and hi-fi sets can't be equated to price and you can even have a discussion of physics, electricity and the very nature of matter. But for a hobby it boils down to personal preference. Whatever it is as long as it "Works for YOU" and you feel happy. @Kachui James is really a good fellow. I just bought two 5ft cables for my speakers. I just had to clean the contacts and just plugged one to my Yamamoto. The sound difference is night and day compared to the stock cable. I like this than the Acrolink 4030 as the highs and mds are better articulated than the Acrolink. The bass isn't as deep and i feel it it might be a bit constrained as what my sonic memory tells me compared to the Sep's Blacksand. For the price he gave me this is a steal! Waiting for my Black sand to come in so I can use these babies on my speakers. lol!
  12. My personal favorites: 1) Linkin Park 2) Audio Slave 3) Dream Theater (not for the faint of heart) lol! 4) Nickleback 5) Creed 6) Incubus
  13. WoW! You have great phones. Actually my friend is hunting down both of the amps you sold off. he is planning to drive his RS1. Anyway, really hope to meet up with you at the meet.
  14. It should be safe. Usually if I service an outlet you need to throw down the Circuit Breaker. This makes sure you don't get the shock of your life. Back at home, US receptacles are still standard I rarely see a switch on outlets in homes. I sometimes service an outlet while there is power if I really need it to be done right away. But I would always advise other people NOT to do this. US receptacles or outlets usually do not have switches and they are always on unless you throw down the Circuit breaker.
  15. Wow! I hope you do come. I've tried a W1000 on the Yamamoto before at Jaben. It was really nice. But I haven't heard the W5000 yet with the Yamamoto. They say both pair very well. In the long run I might be getting another woodie for my Yamamoto either a Denon or an AT the W5000 is on the list of want to try. =) @John What are you using to drive your phones at home.
  16. Thanks for correcting me it's indeed 4030. http://oohlins.blogspot.com/2007/05/acrolink-oyaide.html From what I've googled, some people do get punchy BASS. Anyway, the only thing I can do is try it out sometime. For the mean time, Eric gave me the chance to try his cables on my Rig. He is a very generous (poisonous) man. lol!
  17. Hahah! I know my music might not fit in. But what the heck. I Love it! ... Akon - Freedom
  18. @PBJ If you can stay away from USB inputs the Better. USB is usually limited by the transmitted size of data I bilieve its 16bits/Word which usually caps out to as opposed to the standard 24bit/word you can get out of Digital connetions. I saw a dac that accepts 32 bit/word 's. lol! The idea is the more the information the better the DAC should be able to extrapolate the correct sampling value. But I cannot conclude the bigger the sampled value the better it is on my dac magic the max 96khz seems to be ok. But on Some Dacs at 192khz even though the Dac can go much higher this is because the music tend to have TOO MUCH details. Regarding the Power cables. I am trying to get one that can provide me even deeper bass. Looking at the cables that Eric has and if budget pemits might try an Acrolink 3040.
  19. @PBJ Actually eric's the one who poisoned me the 1st time. You saw how the volume increase and the sound opened up. Will you be buying with me. loL!

    IEM for rock

Actually if only for earphone use. The Sansa's have a very good headphone out with ample amount of power. No need to go for an amp. Unless he gets the crazy impendance earphones such as the ER4 or HR-1. =)
  21. I have the same opinion. Get the 40$ Aurvana earphone. Actually I was using creatives before going to serious stuff, 210, 240, 480 and 630s. I really loved them even compared to bijous. I liked them due to easy packing and unpacking. Bijous tend to get tied up as the wire is a bit stiff. If you like bass the creative gives an ample amount but gets rolled off a bit. But for the price you're getting them its really worth it.
  22. This reminds me of John Travolta and Nicolas Cage's "Face Off". Nicely rendered Kachui! @Kachui Haven't seen you on the sign-up list yet. Will you be able to go?
  23. Waah no one else taking pics. I am but a begginer. Lol! Update: Little Country might not be available by the meet. But I will bring My Yamamoto HA-02. Btw: Any one bringing Power Distributors/STRIPS on the Meet? We do have a lot of Equipment. I believe PLUGs are gonna be a scarce resource.
  24. By any chance you know the person soundsync. lol! Hope o see you when you visit again!
