  1. I'ver heard the legend, but never got to meet the person himself!
  2. Just spend the extra $5 or $10 for the peace of mind lah. Its not like you need to buy 10 or 20 of them right?
  3. Very interesting! Lots of point to point soldering.
  4. Koba and Larry's sell very nice looking knobs, esp Larry's (Basement, People's Park Shopping Centre). Look at both places, especially since they're in the same building.
  5. perhaps you can try ilford XP2? it uses C41 processing(same as normal color negative film), so any lab should be able to develop and scan. printing will need to be done on black and white paper though.
  6. The guy at Sky Audio wasn't willing to open it up the last time I was there with a couple of friends. Perhaps one day someone who's willing to undo a few screws and take a couple of pictures will buy one.
  7. That's why I say they are good! Their customer care is superb.
  8. Go to Lucky Plaza basement, there are plenty of shops there selling film, with ample stocks of velvia, provia, sensia, reala, etc. prices will be slightly higher than Ruby, I think. P.S. whatever you do, never take pictures of human beings using velvia.
  9. One more thing Paris Miki does right, they do a proper eye exam, with that contraption that allows them to put in different diopters to get your prescription right. their staff are properly trained. Much better than the automated machines/computers used by most places. And they keep customer records too, so like going to your regular clinic they will just pull up your card with your history when you show up.
  10. Wow! It's been a while since we've seen such a nice piece of work in this forum.
  11. You must try slide film and black and white Blues. That spot meter in the F80 is mighty useful!
  12. Ouch! I've been going to Paris Miki(Parco Bugis Junction) for the last 10 years. They do an excellent job, and service is impeccable (They could train the mostly nasty hi-fi and camera salesmen in singapore). Not cheap, but highly recommended. I've only bought 2 frames during the 10 year period, lenses have been changed more often of course, and I still have both, a micro titan and oakley. High quality stuff lasts.
  13. Were your lenses glass? plastic shouldn't break into half.
  14. No. Which part of my ad did you not understand? I tried using the simplest words possible. Sorry, I didn't finish your ad.. 'and has absolutely nothing to do with sound quality.' is new to me. Hence the use of the term "hospital grade" as opposed to "audio grade"(which is a questionable term in itself). FYI, see link Link
  15. No. Which part of my ad did you not understand? I tried using the simplest words possible.
  16. 2 Hospital grade 14-gauge shielded quail powercords for sale. (US plug). The cord is black in color while the moulded plugs are clear purple. (see link). There are ferrite cores on both ends of the powercords. $40 each, or $70 for both. PM me if interested. The price is FIXED so CHEAPSKATES PLEASE BUGGER OFF. Link I got this from a head-fi group buy quite some time ago, but as it turns out I didn't need so many powercords. I don't have a digital camera so I can't provide any pictures sorry. There were pictures posted in the head-fi group buy thread but since the search function on head-fi is disabled I am unable to dig it up. NOTE: These are very well built powercords, nothing more, nothing less, please don't ask me how they sound like. I've never believed powercords have a "sound". Also, "hospital grade" is a standard for mechanical strength and reliability, and has absolutely nothing to do with sound quality. UPDATE: BOTH POWERCORDS SOLD (And its been entertaining seeing just how bad the standard of reading and comprehension amongst some members is) b]
  17. I love my ipod shuffle, but I'm also definitely buying a nano as soon as I can get it.
  18. 5usd each? You should grab them then! I wonder now what's the minimum quantity he had to buy from texas instruments, to be able to sell at such prices and still break even. hmmmmm......
  19. I hope you're getting them cheap. Set of 5 means the seller is one of those cheap bastards who abused the sampling program at texas instruments, i.e. requested free samples (subject to max of 5 pieces per item). Given the widespread abuse, especially by asians, i'm actually a little suprised texas instruments has not stopped the program.
  20. I thought Koba had these the last time I went there........(well, that was in Feb this year). You can try walking around Sim Lim Tower(you can find good bargains if you're lucky), or some of the shops at Burlington Square,e.g.Frankie's also sell stuff like tubes and audio grade caps. Good luck!
  21. paiseh, forgot to reply. the dt250 was sold.
  22. I've always thought of the Diva headphone amp as an urban legend(keep hearing about it but never see before). Photos and review please!
  23. On most recordings, the audible effects of crossfeed should be very subtle, unless they're the kind that actually has most of the music coming from one channel and the vocals from the other (I have a few like that) I find that crossfeed helps to reduce or eliminate fatigue during long listening sessions. Mackie's earlier post explains why.
