doesnt sound like static. Anyway, does your static refer to the kind u hear on analogue cordless phones? Ohyar, I plug them into my PCDP before i switch them on -
Hi, I had this problem with my ATH-F55 & HP650 on a few occasions. I plugged them into my IMP-550 or even my old D-EJ815 and the sound comes out horrible. It sounds: 1. Dull 2. VERY VERY muddy (sounds as though there's a cloth over your speakers) 3. soundstage seems very far away 4. High frequency cant be heard. I used to resolve this problem by not plugging in the plug all the way. It was only yesterday when i decided to tap the headphone plug onto the steel plate at my balcony. Surpisingly, the sound when back to normal. I suppose the cans were not earthed resulting in this. I store them in a cabinet. Why is this so? Do you all experience the same problem? Thanks

ety er6's or shure e2c? reli in a dillema
cheebangpoopoo replied to papaya86's topic in Home Equipment
If you all are wondering whats the max possible freq response of the E2, this is the answer from shure. Yes, you are correct that there is a maximum frequency range that the earphone can reproduce. The testing methods that we use, however, use a coupling mechanism that does not accurately simulate how the earphone sounds when used in the ear canal. This measurement method only allows us to verify the consistency of the earphone for testing purposes, not to provide a meaningful frequency repsonse specifications. As an example, testing the E5 in our coupler yields a high frequency limit of approximately 11 kHz. Of course, this would appear to be a very "dull" sounding earphone if you just looked at the specification. In reality, through subjective listening tests, we know this is not the case. Many users comment that the E5 provides greater "detail" then they have ever heard with another headphone. For this reason, we choose not to provide frequency reponse specifications, as it may cause an unfair prejudice against the earphone. An earphone is very different from a loudspeaker, and cannot be evaluated in the same way. The earphone must be heard to be evaluated. I strongly encourage you to find a Shure dealer that will allow you to hear the product before deciding. -
out of curiosity, whats the difference between this galactic and the normal black 231?

ety er6's or shure e2c? reli in a dillema
cheebangpoopoo replied to papaya86's topic in Home Equipment
E2 is about USD79 + ~20(shipping by global express) or u can get it in sing for 183 but for a year's less warranty. Px200 is about 95 from SLS, i think.. -

regarding the hygiene problem, the cost of a pack of 10 foams in sing is 34 at wailian. Do you want to pay $7 just to test it? -
lekguan:yes, i know that they are exactly the same. i suppose you can buy them individually. shure support says so in their forum. Blues: there are only these trivial dfference. sorry for confusing all of you
