tropicalrips 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 the opa2132 actually sounds very good on this board, could it be the position of the power caps? cause now they are closer to the op-amp
evil-zen 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 (edited) kudos to you tropicalrips! you are one headamp generator and i forsee great things from you! honestly you seem to have an amp built every other day. I'm very interested in doing a simple cmoy too but time is tight for me. hope to learn from all of you DIY people in the future. btw i love the eumenthol jujubes and already have a few tins lying around for future projects. tropicalrips 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2003 thanks guys this new amp is my most compact one , its alomost the same size as the mp3 player, but i left out the led, i'm looking for one thats smaller the ones used on the other amps. maybe those used in handphones will work also looking at digital volume pot, anyone tried that? theres still a lot of room left on this amp if u compare it with Xin's Mini or super mini the digital volume pot i'm looking at now is the AD5220, its dip8 the same size as the op-amp, but i think its only 1 channel, anyone one can confirm? also not very sure how to connect it

jtfoo 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2003 anyone know what the 2k2 stands for? is it just a 2k resistor? Some short terms uses in schematics & DIY 2K2 =2200ohms 24R9=24.9ohms

tropicalrips 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 (edited) done the crossfeed following the drawing above, but used a 2k resistor instead of the 2K2 in the drawing. the crossfeed took out the bass kick of the Cmoy made it sound very bright, sounds like more detailed, but i think its not real...hard to explain the effect, anyone else tried it? i'm going to build this into a Cmoy board next, but with a bypass switch, so can hear the difference with & without the crossfeed. is there anyway to hav the crossfeed without taking out the bass? it also reduced the volume of the music Edited November 29, 2003 by tropicalrips
lekguan 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 I think most crossfeeds do attenuate some signals due to the resistor, except i think XINfeed.
jtfoo 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2003 (edited) is there anyway to hav the crossfeed without taking out the bass? The Meier crossfeed you've made has a improve bass version at headwize.. http://headwize2.powerpill.org/projects/sh...=meier2_prj.htm Or you can try Chu Moy's modified Linkwitz's crossfeed. http://headwize2.powerpill.org/projects/sh...e=cmoy1_prj.htm it also reduced the volume of the music With resistors along the signal path, bound to have attenuation.. Got to live with it. For me, I decided not to live with it. Edited November 30, 2003 by jtfoo
