Rameish 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2003 Evil, Polish a HP-1! Never! The letterings just come off. I think the surface is too smooth. And you're not seeing things. One pix is of the left driver and the other pix is the right. You saw and heard them when you were at my place for the head-fi meet in Jan. They are still in the exact same condition. Rameish 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2003 Wow...you guys are nuts. Yeah the HP-1 is far more solid than any Grados. Built like an American Sherman Tank. Fish, The sound is slightly different. The HP-1 highs are nicer but the RS-1 has more rez. The RS-1 is airier but the HP-1 has better weight. Also the HP-1 positions the listener a couple of rows back when comapred to the RS-1.
