Kube 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 question...there are 4 points on the recitifier ic....1 negative, 1 positive, and 2 waveforms. I'm not sure what connects to what.
siriuz 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 (edited) the 2 curly lines ( ~ ) connect to AC from your transformer , + is the top part of the 4 joined diodes you see on the schematics, and - is the bottom one. i'll attach a picture in awhile to make it clearer edit: heres the pic Edited January 21, 2006 by siriuz
Kube 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 Also asking....can power from a dc supply work? I have access to a dc supply, but can I use on the amp part?
Kippei 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 Negative. You need AC current to do the voltage multipler.
squalle 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 errr for op-amp part only, then u can if you can get DC supply of 60v then of course u can but I've never seen a walwart supplying 60v so kube, have u started assemblying all the parts you bought last night? anything lacking? Kube 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2006 heh, haven't started assembling yet... taking things slow. The first time I rushed into the cmoy2, I wrecked it. Taking it one step at a time
Kippei 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 I still got 1 wheeing sound that i haven solved yet. Whenever i touch the wires from the pot to the tube the wheeing increases. So how to fix this problem?
squalle 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 any interference source nearby? fluorescent lamp? big fan?
Kippei 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 hmmm a fan but it is those big stand one not on my table
squalle 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 wait... only when you touch u get the whee-ing sound? if so, then it's normal ur body intro interference to the signal, before amplification, and the interference will get magnified too that's why when u touch the output wire, no significant effect
Kippei 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 I follow u coil a bunch of wires around the input wire. Although it drop the whee by a lot. I still can hear a bit of whee and hum... I think the only way to cancel all the interference is to use a PCB...

Kippei 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2006 okay i trace it down to the bipolar power and the opamp. I took out the tube, now we are only left with these 2. Now i hear the faint wheee again... Any idea?
