question...there are 4 points on the recitifier ic....1 negative, 1 positive, and 2 waveforms. I'm not sure what connects to what.

the 2 curly lines ( ~ ) connect to AC from your transformer , + is the top part of the 4 joined diodes you see on the schematics, and - is the bottom one. i'll attach a picture in awhile to make it clearer

Also asking....can power from a dc supply work? I have access to a dc supply, but can I use on the amp part?

errr

 

for op-amp part only, then u can

 

if you can get DC supply of 60v then of course u can

 

but I've never seen a walwart supplying 60v laugh.gif

 

so kube, have u started assemblying all the parts you bought last night?

anything lacking?

heh, haven't started assembling yet... taking things slow. The first time I rushed into the cmoy2, I wrecked it. Taking it one step at a time laugh.gif

I still got 1 wheeing sound that i haven solved yet. Whenever i touch the wires from the pot to the tube the wheeing increases. So how to fix this problem?

wait...

 

only when you touch u get the whee-ing sound?

 

if so, then it's normal

ur body intro interference to the signal, before amplification, and the interference will get magnified too

that's why when u touch the output wire, no significant effect

I follow u coil a bunch of wires around the input wire. Although it drop the whee by a lot. I still can hear a bit of whee and hum...

 

I think the only way to cancel all the interference is to use a PCB...

okay i trace it down to the bipolar power and the opamp. I took out the tube, now we are only left with these 2. Now i hear the faint wheee again... Any idea?
