Nice amp for dt880

Recommended Posts

Guy, I don't have any intention to sell my ideas to anyone but if he/she wishes to pick my old brain, no qualms there. wacko.gif

There are different phases as time progresses and one may or may not change along the road to sonic heaven. Taste of music changes with age and what we hold true now may be reinforced further or abate.

Nothing is absolute, especially more so with music/sound preference and the various schools of thought in this hobby.

I don't wish to convert anyone but adhoc, if U wish to dwell deeper into sound systems, my humble home and setups are at your beck and call. Pm me if U have an interest and we can enjoy the music together. headphone.gif

Alrighty then, what were we talking about? Amps for cans like DT880?

er.. mackie , sorry if my last sentence sounded like 'try to push anyone' . Yeah I know you are not the sort who pushes your idea to others.. laugh.gif

My silly mistake down there sleep.gif

alrite alrite.. off topic too much here..

back to the amp..

I've yet to hear tube amps. I heard they are good match with dt880 which can be a lil bit bright/shrill with the wrong cds..

maybe the warm tube will help there..

I guess I'm pretty much stuck with tubes now as I'm always trying to source around for tube headamps instead of SS.

This time round, I would want to get one where I can see the tubes, not just feel the heat.

Sticking to the topic, how's the Belden power cord with your HA-1 driving your 880s, Guyferd?

nay, wouldn't be going for the oven. Would be more adventurous and try to bring in something not commonly available.

Oak, looks like I will scour the audiophile shops harder when I'm in HK...hopefully during X-mas season. Tube gears are big there.

Power cords need more time to burn in than interconnects..........no rush........I'm also burning in mine. Changes are more discernible when I check the sound for a brief while on a daily basis.

actually for power cord we just need to connect it and on the amp right?

I mean since they don't carry sound signal so I don't have to play cds rite?

hm...
