From what I know was during the 80s, it was very popular with the youth (remember the centerpoint kids era), and during the Mambo Jumbo era of 2k, it was OVERPLAYED and became one of the few anthems of "Zoukettes" retronights, hence that "ah-beng" affiliation. (yes, I personally find mambo jumbo zoukettes an ah-bengish crowd "trying" not to be beng LOL so pls don't take offence if you fall into that group) 2) Beckham had an affair with a model whilst he was here.
