I think the process of treating the cable is also considered. I feel maybe much cheaper if they do sell the cable for us to DIY. Anyway, there is a lot of other alternative branded wires to consider. It's the replacement for the SM-i. With wider soundstage, better detail and accuracy.. It's more about the synergy between your rig and cable. Give it a try... you might end up $200 poorer.
