Eric Chia 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2009 ok let me start 1st akg with b22 single ended..... wat do u expect from a world class amp? when playing Gosh Jorban, i got lost in music and it's bring out the warm and sweetness of the Gorban vocals superb mids, exceptional details and simply breathtaking and lively imo bass is there and somehow it is deep but not as deep as i thought it will be well it is single ended btw havent got chance to try with xlr beyers dt880 600 ohms simply shine with b22 just by still using single ended the renowned highs and lows is superb and simply out of the world while retaining the mids however it is not as bright and it place u back into 5th row of cinema seat not fatiguing and yet very fun and feet tapping as well For sen hd600 and hd650 they outshine the rest of the 2 cans i have using valgrinds xlr cables they simply breathtaking and omg they have found the perfect amp to pair with it hd600 is superb balanced and neutral and u will feel u in live orchestral hall listening to live performance extended soundstage beyond my expectation hd650 with woody was my only motivation and the probably best dynamics cans i ever heard and i am very proud of to put it simply, deformed, modded and with woody, it became something out of my expectation it has the sweet mids as the omega II, highs as powerful and low as deep as the beyers and with transparency of the akgs make it my favourite cans overall.... It'll look even better if the wood color is as dark as the jellyfish. Edited February 14, 2009 by ical
Kachui 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2009 ha, ha...it would certainly be a good match with the jellyfish...another fine workmanship from the Sifu!
kidult 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2009 i think i got to charge copyright for the above portraits. The wooden cups are indeed beautifully craft the b22 reminds me a 1000% upsize iQube sounds it is very laid back, dark, neutral & transparent. personally not a fan of HD650, after tried the wooden cups, earpads & valgrinds re-cable with XLR HD650 & HD600. I must say, it matched tremendous with both HD6xx!! and is the 1st time i heard HD650 sings!

uberburger101 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2009 Nice one. Now the question is... ERIC, WHEN ARE YOU GETTING YOUR B22? Well the woodied grilles look fantastic, a tad darker would be nice. You can never have enough wood. But why are all the good things limited edition... I don't even have a HD6xx yet.
peanutbutterjam 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) at last sen hd650 that sounds 70% of stax omegas...... Eric where are the pics??? How did the wood change the sound? How big was the difference? Edited February 15, 2009 by peanutbutterjam

soundsync 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2009 Btw, the wood used for the modded grill is one of the best in the world and the varnish used on it is natural. From the looks of it, if I am not mistaken, it's teak. Looks better when showing its natural lustre. Especially, when you can see the grains of the wood.
